Unfortunately, owing to heavy and persistent rain, it did not prove possible to move the locomotive to its display spot until Friday 31st August, but it was able to join in the fun on the following day when it took a few twirls round the area, hauled by three steam traction engines. A stand from the Friends of the National Railway Museum was close by the locomotive to provide information and raise funds to cover the cosmetic restoration of the locomotive. After its appearance at the fair, the locomotive moved to the Mid-Hants Railway, ‘The Watercress Line’, where it was re-united with its tender as a static display in the Autumn Steam Spectacular from 7th to 9th September. The Railway also ran a dining train and a real-ale train on Saturday 22nd September, to support the restoration campaign. Great Dorset Steam Fair 2012 Hauled by three steam tractors.
