GROWING PROBATE AND ELDER ISSUE MEDIATION Friday, February 2, 2018
Please join us on February 2nd for an all-day mediation training. Join Jim Melamed, long-time mediator and founder and CEO of Mediate.com, for consideration of how we can grow and elevate probate and elder issue mediation. In addition to practice and policy considerations, Jim will review strategic approaches and his favorite techniques for assisting participants to agree.
The Alameda County Probate Court will be updating its list of probate mediators for the first time in many years. The Alameda County Probate Court typically updates its list of probate mediators every several years, so we encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity. If you have any interest in becoming a probate mediator on the list, this course is a great start!

Directions to the Oakland Center
Location The Center is located at the corner of 11th and Broadway in Oakland. You can only access the Conference Center from a doorway on 11th Street marked "Suite 109" located next to the Colonial Donut Shop. You cannot access the Center through the lobby.
From Contra Costa County Take Highway 24 to the Caldecott Tunnel. Take Highway 980 exit. Continue south to the 11th Street exit. Turn left onto 11th street. Cross Broadway. See below for parking information.
From Marin County Take Highway 580 to Interstate 80 West. At the San Francisco/Oakland interchange, take Highway 580 East. Take the Highway 980/Downtown Oakland exit. Continue to the 11th Street exit. Turn left onto 11th Street. Cross Broadway. See below for parking information.
From Pleasanton/Livermore Take Highway 580 into Oakland. Take the Downtown Oakland exit onto Highway 980. Continue to the 11th Street exit. Turn left on 11th Street. Cross Broadway. See below for parking information.
From the San Francisco/Bay Bridge Take the Highway 580 exit. Take the Downtown Oakland exit onto Highway 980. Continue to the 11th Street exit. Turn left onto 11th Street. Cross Broadway. See below for parking information.
From the Oakland International Airport Take Highway 880 North to the Broadway exit in Downtown Oakland. Make a right turn onto Broadway at the first light. Make a right turn onto 11th Street. See below for parking information. You may also use BART from the airport. Outside Terminals 1 and 2 proceed to the AirBart bus stop. The AirBart buses run between Oakland Int'l. Airport and the Oakland Coliseum BART station. Take BART north to the 12th Street/City Center station.
BART Exit the Oakland City Center/12th Street station using the Broadway/11th Street South Exit. Proceed on Broadway to 11th Street and follow the directions under "Location" above. Visit the BART Web site for more information on routes and schedules.
AC Transit The Oakland Center is located on the AC Transit 82/82L lines which drop off on 11th Street at Broadway. Additional lines also drop off on Broadway.
Parking Underground parking is available at the Transpacific Centre on 11th Street, where the Oakland Center is located. The parking garage is open Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and there is a $1.00 charge per 15 minutes for parking ($14 daily maximum). Super Early Bird special pricing is available at $8.00, before 8:00 a.m. Early Bird special pricing is available at $10.00, before 10:00 a.m. Evening special pricing is available at $6.00, after 3:00 p.m.
