The following offences have been reported in May: There have been multiple thefts of bicycles and other small vehicles. Overnight on 15—16 May, a GT Caracoram mountain bike was stolen from a garage at Tile Barn at Woolton Hill. Two nights later, a Giant Triance mountain bike was stolen from a shed at Penwood. A theft from vehicle was reported by a neighbour the same night. On 18 or 19 May, a bicycle and a motocross bike were stolen from an address at Broadlayings. Two quad bikes have also been stolen in the borough, one in Hannington and another in Upton Grey. Several incidents have been reported at Kingsclere. A workshop was broken into in Foxes Lane, no property was stolen. There have been reports of garages that have been broken into in Fawconer Road and Basingstoke Road, over a three day period of 6—8 May. Power tools were stolen from one of the garages. There was an attempted break-in to a garage in Bishops Green on 12 May. Two burglaries have been reported in at Wotton St Lawrence. The first incident was overnight on 5—6 May, in which a garden shed was broken into and garden machinery was stolen. Three garages were broken into on the second incident on the night of 9—10 May and a chainsaw was stolen. The project, called ‘Think Safe’, is organised by the Safer North Hampshire Community Safety Partnership and a variety of agencies, including the local councils, and teaches young people about issues such as fire safety, railway safety, first-aid, healthy relationships, societal issues such as homelessness, safety on military land, cyber-safety and stranger danger.
