Train for over 10 hours each day with professional scouts, former professional players and former college coaches. All players will attend a New York Yankees game at the legendary Yankee Stadium. This is the last year that the Yankees will play at Yankee Stadium before moving into their new ballpark in 2009. All players will benefit from: ♦ Major League Experience: This is the last year that the New York Yankees will play at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx. We will take you to see the Yankees play so that you can experience big league baseball at this historic venue. ♦ Position Specific Training: You will receive instruction on hitting, fielding, pitching, catching, base running and speed and strength training. The Baseball Factory coaching staff will work with you to improve all aspects of your game. We do not take a cookie cutter approach to training. We will focus on the areas that will have the greatest impact in your development. ♦ Game Situations: Play simulated games against athletes from across the nation. Our professional staff will provide instruction to help you increase your success during game play. ♦ Gear Up! Players will receive a free Mattingly Baseball V-Grip wood bat. In addition, all players will be registered to receive a half-year subscription to Baseball America, the premier baseball Baseball Heaven publication in the nation. New York Pro Weekly Training will be held at the Baseball Heaven Complex in Yaphank, NY. The facility has seven state of the art fields and batting cages. In addition, players will participate in speed and strength training at the All 4 Sports & Fitness headquarters in West Islip, NY. Lodging Info: Baseball Factory Event Headquarters Courtyard Marriott – Long Island MacArthur Airport 5000 Express Drive South Ronkonkoma, New York 11779 631.612.5000 Flight Info/Itinerary: Arrival: July 27 between 10 AM – 1 PM, if player is traveling alone and will need to be picked up at the airport. Players should fly into Long Island MacArthur Airport, located in Islip, NY. If player is traveling with parents they should report to the Event Headquarters by 1 PM. Players will participate in daily position specific workouts and will compete in game situations. Players will be instructed in all aspects of the game including hitting, fielding, pitching, base running, and speed and strength training. Players will also have the opportunity to attend a New York Yankees game at legendary Yankee Stadium. This is the last year that the Yankees will play at Yankee Stadium before moving into their new ballpark in 2009. Departure: August 2 after 6 PM at the Long Island MacArthur Airport. Tentative Coaches Steve Bernhardt: Executive Vice President of Baseball Operations at Baseball Factory, Include: current professional scout and former professional player with the Colorado Rockies organization. Rick Sofield: Sofield is a former major league player with the Minnesota Twins. He also served as a manager of the Colorado Rockies AAA affiliate and a field coordinator with four major league organizations including the New York Yankees. Sofield is currently the Assistant Athletic Director and Head Baseball Coach at the University of South Carolina – Beaufort.
