Appointed by Governor Rick Perry in February 2013, and confirmed by the Texas Senate in May, Aliseda will be serving a six-year term on the board and will take part on key decisions as they relate to the new university and the medical school. Aliseda is a managing attorney for Loya Insurance Group and serves as a mu- nicipal court judge for City of McAllen. He has served as State District Judge for both 398th and 139th State District Courts, in addition to serving in various leadership capacities in the legal profes- sion.
