Chuck Holenda was a Harley dealer for over fifty years, and while the dealership is now under the RideNow banner, the Holenda family continues to be a part of this landmark place-- as Eric Diaz, Chuck Holenda’s grandson, works at El Cajon Harley in his current role of Motorcycle Sales. General Manager Brett Dickinson and Marketing Manager Tina Hook made sure that this party, sixty years in the making, got going with a blast from the past! Chuck Holenda, a real original, was here autographing special event T-shirts and posing for pics with fans who remember him from the old days, and came to swap stories-- and their kids who have grown up along the way and now buying their own Harley-Davidson bikes here too. Mrs. Holenda and the other family members and friends were here too, to celebrate this milestone. We got photos of Chuck sitting astride his original 1954 Harley Servi-Car with family gathered around which brought back the good old days with fond memories. Chuck was later presented with a special 60th Anniversary cake that had photo images from the old days lasered onto the top in the icing, which of course was a delicious way to celebrate. Our friend Fran Del Santo- a phenomenal photographer- and myself both got a lot of photos as there was a lot going on, live music on the outdoor stage-- some killer blues by Lady Dottie and the Diamonds. A free bikini bike wash, food by Albert’s Taco Cart, shady tent & table/seating area to relax & enjoy both the food AND the music, and plenty of cold drinks too. Some really nice raffle prizes too including a café’ racer helmet! A beautiful white vintage Harley won the Bike Show, beating out some great looking bikes, and all of them magnets for cameras and envious drooling. And beautiful bikes seem to just go with beautiful ladies in bikinis, so a bikini contest topped off the festivities. What will the NEXT 60 years bring?
