Fathers' Day Trains & Triumphs FATHERS’ DAY TRAINS & TRIUMPHS AT SOUTH DEVON RAILWAY BUCKFASTLEIGH TQ11 0DZ on SUNDAY 18th JUNE 2017 10 am to 4pm Jane & Anna Christie and Sue & John Franklin invite you to bring your Triumph to the Trains & Triumphs event on Sunday 18 June 2017. The South Devon Railway will be operating its daily train service between Buckfastleigh and Totnes Litlehempston. At Buckfastleigh you can visit the Dartmoor Otters and Buckfast Butterflies whilst at the other end there is the Totnes Rare Breeds Farm. The Railway has all the usual facilities, including a large cafeteria, a miniature railway, garden railway and small childrens’ play area. Discounts will be available on food purchases on production of voucher which will be given out on the day. The event will run from 10.00am to 4pm. ENJOY YOUR DAY – there is no charge for entry but WE WILL BE COLLECTING FOR DEVON FREEWHEELERS and ROWCROFT HOSPICE– PLEASE GIVE GENEROUSLY Risk Assessment and Conditions of Entry a) Filling or emptying of fuel tanks within the area is strictly prohibited at any time b) All vehicles should be positioned within the boundaries of the display so that any protrusions, doors, tail lifts etc do not infringe public access. c) Vehicles must be taxed and drivers be insured to drive the vehicle. d) All entrants must ensure that all drivers hold, and are not disqualified from holding, a license to drive the class of vehicle being displayed. e) Road vehicles must be fully licensed and tested in accordance with the regulations for that type of vehicle for road use and not run on trade plates. f) No exhibit may be left running unattended. All unattended vehicles must be securely braked and engines switched off. g) Vehicle movement within the display area is restricted between 10.00am and 5pm except with the express permission of a marshall. h) Entry is at the discretion of the organisers. The Centre is at St Boniface House near Buckfastleigh. There will also be 2 large scale testing sites in Plymouth and Exeter which is hoped will reduce any pressure on the smaller local sites. Devon aims to roll out testing for people without symptoms but working on the frontline. CP fed back on the unsuitability of St. Boniface House due to poor signposting and inadequate parking. BB highlighted the greater flexibility of the Additional Restrictions Grant which will hopefully make it more accessible for businesses who have fallen through the gap in previous schemes. https://www.gov.uk/guidance/check-if-youre-eligible-for-the-coronavirus-additional-restrictions-grant Public Forum SF brought to the attention of Council that there had been a case of severe vandalism on a property in the parish followed by malicious correspondence. I feel very strongly that it would not be in the best interests of this village to exclude it from the area of Teignmouth, as this is where most people go for shopping and services. The boundary of the A 380 and the extensive building there recently makes it difficult to get into Kingsteignton, whereas Teignmouth adjoins our village and is very accessible. The boundary between the two is not well marked and we identify with and share facilities and activities very much with Teignmouth and Shaldon. Our recent village festival was well attended by Teignmouth Residents and many people here are involved in organisations there, especially sailing and rowing, local churches and choirs, political groups and the arts. We feel very much a coastal area and our identity is here. We have a very active and strong local identity which includes Teignmouth and is highly valued by the people who live and visit here. Please do not change that, for the sake of political expediency. If democracy and local participation in the governance of this area means anything, I hope and trust that you will listen and take account of the views of the residents of Bishopsteignton.

Annual report August 2018 - July 2019 In 2018-19... 15,644 children attended CAP UK workshops and assemblies across 84 schools. 100% of staff and headteachers would recommend CAP UK to other schools. “The team were so professional, friendly and passionate about what they were doing. ” Headteacher Children have the right to grow up safe, strong and free. As adults we are failing our children if we don’t act to protect their rights. Unfortunately, in the UK: ➔ 26% of children aged 10-15 report being bullied in the previous 12 months. ➔ 10% children aged 10-15 report being victims of crime. ➔ 15% of girls and 5% of boys in England and Wales are thought to experience some form of sexual abuse before the age of 16. CAP UK Child Assault Prevention builds safer communities for children. Our work with schools gives children the skills to stay safe and the confidence to tell an adult when something is worrying them. We also equip adults with the skills to protect children. Our unique preventative work has been helping children to stay safe in Devon since 1995. Last year we worked with over 15,000 children in Devon, Cornwall and Somerset. Help a child learn how to be safe, strong and free by making a regular or one-off donation through our website. Chair of Trustees View A warm welcome.
