An old, blind cowboy wanders into an all-girl biker bar by mistake. He finds his way to a bar stool and orders a shot of Jack Daniels. After sitting there for a while, he yells to the bartender, 'Hey, you wanna hear a blonde joke?'

The bar immediately falls absolutely silent. In a very deep, husky voice, the woman next to him says, 'Before you tell that joke, Cowboy, I think it is only fair, Given that you are blind, that you should know five things:

1. The bartender is a blonde girl with a baseball bat. 2. The bouncer is a blonde girl. 3. I'm a 6-foot tall, 175-pound blonde woman with a black belt in karate. 4. The woman sitting next to me is blonde and a professional weight lifter. 5. The lady to your right is blonde and a professional wrestler.

Now, think about it seriously, Cowboy. Do you still wanna tell that blonde joke?'

The blind cowboy thinks for a second, shakes his head and mutters, 'No...not if I'm gonna have to explain it five times.

ZONE PROJECT

What a great project you all chose to take part in for our Zone Project. There were a couple of the clubs that were not able to participate due to other club commitments but between the remainder of the clubs, we supplied a work force of 24 Lions to help with the event.

th The event was the North Shore Special Olympics 30 Anniversary Gala Night. It was a first class event with limousine and black SUV transport from the parking area to the red carpet entry. The guests were greeted and made to feel like the special people that they are. There was Steel Pan music on the lower concourse and a roving magician to entertain everyone as they mingled in and around the lobby. Once inside, they were served drinks and snacks until the doors opened.

The ceremonies themselves include entertainment and demonstrations as well as award presentations. Many of the athletes all dressed up in their finest outfits got very excited when they received their well- deserved awards. It was a very special experience.

The Lions of Zone 19A2 were there to assist in every aspect of the event right from helping people to find a place to park their cars to finding a place to sit. The organizers showed their appreciation by awarding our Zone with a beautiful plaque. Their comment to me was that they couldn’t have done it without us.

Thanks so much for your involvement
