Temporary Traffic and Transport Arrangements on and Cheung Tung Road

Notice is hereby given that to facilitate the road works of Tuen Mun – Chek Lap Kok Link – Southern Connection Viaduct Section, the following temporary traffic and transport arrangements will be implemented on during the time periods specified below:

(A) Road / Lane Closure

(i) North Lantau Highway Kowloon bound

(a) A section of two traffic lanes of North Lantau Highway Kowloon bound from a point about 2200 metres east of its junction with Eastern Interchange to a point about 4000 metres east of the same junction will be temporarily closed to all vehicular traffic from 11.30 p.m. to 1.00 a.m. of the following day on 15, 19, 20 & 22 February 2017;

(b) A section of two traffic lanes of North Lantau Highway Kowloon bound from a point about 2200 metres east of its junction with Tung Chung Eastern Interchange to a point about 2550 metres east of the same junction will be temporarily closed to all vehicular traffic from 1.00 a.m. to 5.30 a.m. on 16, 20, 21 & 23 February 2017;

(c) A section of North Lantau Highway Kowloon bound from a point about 2550 metres east of its junction with Tung Chung Eastern Interchange (Emergency Opening E4 at central median near Tai Ho Wan) to a point about 3950 meters east of the same junction (Emergency Opening E6 at central median near Depot) will be temporarily closed to all vehicular traffic from 1.00 a.m. to 4.30 a.m. on 16, 20, 21 & 23 February 2017; and

(d) A section of two traffic lanes of North Lantau Highway Kowloon bound from a point about 2550 metres east of its junction with Tung Chung Eastern Interchange to a point about 4000 metres east of the same junction will be temporarily closed to all vehicular traffic from 4.30 a.m. to 5.30 a.m. on 16, 20, 21 & 23 February 2017.

(ii) North Lantau Highway Tung Chung bound

(a) A section of two traffic lanes of North Lantau Highway Tung Chung bound from a point about 400 metres east of its junction with Tung Chung Eastern Interchange to a point about 4800 metres east of the same junction will be temporarily closed to all vehicular traffic from 11.30 p.m. to 12.30 a.m. of the following day on 15, 19, 20 & 22 February 2017 and from 4.30 a.m. to 5.30 a.m. on 16, 20, 21 & 23 February 2017;

(b) A section of North Lantau Highway Tung Chung bound from a point about 500 metres east of its junction with Tung Chung Eastern Interchange to a point about 4000 metres east of the same junction will be temporarily closed to all vehicular traffic from 12.30 a.m. to 4.30 a.m. on 16, 20, 21 & 23 February 2017; and

(c) A section of two traffic lanes of North Lantau Highway Tung Chung bound from a point about 4000 metres east of its junction with Tung Chung Eastern Interchange to a point about 4800 metres east of the same junction will be temporarily closed to all vehicular traffic from 12.30 a.m. to 4.30 a.m. on 16, 20, 21 & 23 February 2017.

(iii) Cheung Tung Road Kowloon bound

A section of about 5500 metres in length on Cheung Tung Road Kowloon bound between its junction with Fu Tung Street and Ngau Tau Wan will be temporarily closed to all vehicular traffic from 12.30 a.m. to 5.00 a.m. on 16, 20, 21 & 23 February 2017.

(iv) Cheung Tung Road Tung Chung bound

A section of about 800 metres in length on Cheung Tung Road Tung Chung bound between Ngau Tau Wan and Siu Ho Wan Depot will be temporarily closed to all vehicular traffic from 12.30 a.m. to 5.00 a.m. on 16, 20, 21 & 23 February 2017.

(B) Traffic Arrangements

(I) From 11.30 p.m. to 1.00 a.m. of the following day on 15, 19, 20 & 22 February 2017

Motorists are advised to travel via the remaining traffic lane(s) of North Lantau Highway Kowloon bound.

(II) From 11.30 p.m. to 12.30 a.m. of the following day on 15, 19, 20 & 22 February 2017

Motorists are advised to travel via the remaining traffic lane(s) of North Lantau Highway Tung Chung bound.

(III) From 12.30 a.m. to 4.30 a.m. on 16, 20, 21 & 23 February 2017

(i) North Lantau Highway Tung Chung bound

Motorists from North Lantau Highway heading for Tung Chung or Airport are advised to travel via North Lantau Highway Tung Chung bound, via Emergency Access Gate G6 near Tai Ho Wan, Cheung Tung Road, via Emergency Access Gate G10 or G11 near Caribbean Coast back to North Lantau Highway Tung Chung bound and continue their journeys.

(ii) To and from Pak Mong

(a) A section of about 4700 metres in length on Cheung Tung Road between its junction with Fu Tung Street and Siu Ho Wan Depot will be converted to two-lane-one-way traffic towards Tung Chung. Motorists from Pak Mong access road are allowed to make left-turn to Cheung Tung Road only;

(b) Motorists from Pak Mong heading for Sunny Bay, Discovery Bay or Tsing Yi are advised to travel via Cheung Tung Road, Fu Tung Street,

Tat Tung Road, Shun Tung Road, Yu Tung Road, Tung Chung Eastern Interchange, North Lantau Highway Kowloon bound, via Emergency Opening E4 at central median near Tai Ho Wan into North Lantau Highway Tung Chung bound, via Emergency Opening E6 at central median near Siu Ho Wan Depot back to North Lantau Highway Kowloon bound and continue their journeys; and

(c) Motorists from Tsing Yi, Discovery Bay or Sunny Bay heading for Pak Mong are advised to travel via North Lantau Highway Tung Chung bound, via Emergency Access Gate G6 near Tai Ho Wan, Cheung Tung Road and continue their journeys.

(iii) To and from Ngau Tau Wan

(a) Motorists from Ngau Tau Wan heading for Pak Mong, Tung Chung or Airport are advised to travel via Cheung Tung Road, Sunny Bay Road, Penny’s Bay Highway, North Lantau Highway Tung Chung bound and continue their journeys; and

(b) Motorists from Airport, Tung Chung or Pak Mong heading for Ngau Tau Wan are advised to travel via North Lantau Highway Kowloon bound, via Emergency Opening E4 at central median near Tai Ho Wan into North Lantau Highway Tung Chung bound, via Emergency Opening E6 at central median near Siu Ho Wan Depot back to North Lantau Highway Kowloon bound, Penny’s Bay Highway, Sunny Bay Road, Cheung Tung Road and continue their journeys.

(IV) From 1.00 a.m. to 4.30 a.m. on 16, 20, 21 & 23 February 2017

(i) North Lantau Highway Kowloon bound

(a) A section of North Lantau Highway Tung Chung bound from a point about 2550 metres east of its junction with Tung Chung Eastern Interchange (Emergency Opening E4 at central median near Tai Ho Wan) to a point about 3950 metres east of the same junction (Emergency Opening E6 at central median near Siu Ho Wan Depot) will be converted to one-lane-one-way traffic towards Kowloon; and

(b) Motorists from North Lantau Highway heading for Kowloon are advised to travel via North Lantau Highway Kowloon bound, via Emergency Opening E4 at central median near Tai Ho Wan into North Lantau Highway Tung Chung bound, via Emergency Opening E6 at central median near Siu Ho Wan Depot back to North Lantau Highway Kowloon bound and continue their journeys.

(V) From 4.30 a.m. to 5.30 a.m. on 16, 20, 21 & 23 February 2017

Motorists are advised to travel via the remaining traffic lane(s) of North Lantau Highway Kowloon / Tung Chung bound.

(C) Public Transport Arrangements

(i) The Kowloon bound journeys of Long Win Bus routes A31, A33, A41, A41P, A43, E31, E32, E33, E33P, E34A, E34B, E41, E42, N30, N30P, N30S, N31, N42, N42A, NA33, NA34, NA40, NA41, NA43 Citybus routes A10, A11, A12, A21, A22, A29, E11, E11A, E21, E22, E22A, E23, N11, N21, N21A, N23, N26, N29, NA21 and NA29 will be diverted via North Lantau Highway Kowloon bound, via Emergency Opening E4 at central median near Tai Ho Wan into North Lantau Highway Tung Chung bound, via Emergency Opening E6 at central median near Siu Ho Wan Depot back to North Lantau Highway Kowloon bound before resuming normal routeings;

(ii) The Airport bound / Tung Chung bound journeys of Long Win Bus routes A31, E31, E32, E33, E34A, E34B, E41, E42, N30, N30P, N30S, N31, N42, N42A, N42P, Citybus routes E11, E11A, E21, E21A, E22, E23, N11, N21, N21A, N23, N26, N29 and NA29 will be diverted via North Lantau Highway Tung Chung bound, via Emergency Access Gate G6 near Tai Ho Wan into Cheung Tung Road, via Emergency Access Gate G10 or G11 near Caribbean Coast back to North Lantau Highway Tung Chung bound before resuming normal routeings;

(iii) The Discovery Bay bound journeys of Residents’ Service DB01R and DB02R will be diverted via Tat Tung Road, Shun Tung Road, Yu Tung Road, Tung Chung Eastern Interchange, North Lantau Highway Kowloon bound, via Emergency Opening E4 at central median near Tai Ho Wan into North Lantau Highway Tung Chung bound, via Emergency Opening E6 at central median near Siu Ho Wan Depot back to North Lantau Highway Kowloon bound, Penny’s Bay Highway, Sunny Bay Road and Cheung Tung Road before resuming to normal routeings; and

(iv) The Tung Chung bound journeys of Residents’ Service DB01R and the Airport bound journeys of Residents’ Service DB02R will be diverted via Cheung Tung Road, Sunny Bay Road, Penny’s Bay Highway, North Lantau Highway Tung Chung bound, via Emergency Access Gate G6 near Tai Ho Wan back to Cheung Tung Road before resuming to normal routeings.

Appropriate traffic aids will be erected on site. Motorists are advised to follow the instructions on site and drive with utmost care. The public transport operators will put up notices to advise passengers of the above arrangements.
