K SZYMANOWSKI: Stabat Mater / Veni Creator Naxos 8.570724 / Litany to the Virgin Mary / Demeter / Penthesilea Stabat Mater Jozef Janowski’s Polish translation of the famous Marian hymn is particularly vivid, more so, perhaps, than the original Latin text on which it was based. The Polish text and a free English translation are given here with the standard Latin and English versions for comparison. 1.
