This is certainly the case with our latest project, located in a gem of a site in Highlands Estate, high on the rim of Cape Town’s extraordinarily beautiful City Bowl. In such a special spot, we have the responsibility to develop a building that will not intrude on but enhance this magical setting. A building that will nestle into the landscape as though it has always belonged there. It’s a big responsibility, but one that I believe our professional team has more than lived up to in Deer Park Place, which gives me the confidence to predict that those who are fortunate enough to invest and to live here will enjoy the rewards for decades to come. "Best Parks in Cape Town" Créé par: Cityseeker 6 Emplacements marqués The Company's Garden "Historic Public Garden" A historic public garden, The Company's Garden has seen several changes, much like the city of Cape Town itself, from the time of its original foundation. Originally established by the Dutch in 1652, they used it as a station to supply and stock provisions to ships sailing to the East. Maintained by the Dutch East India Company till 1795, when the garden by Josephou fell into ruins as the company dissolved into bankruptcy. Following years saw further changes by the British and finally, it was taken over by the Municipality in 1892 and opened to the public six years later. Due to its historic nature, as well as the natural beauty, the gardens are a major cultural landmark as they house institutions like the Parliament Houses, Iziko Museum, Great Synagogue and Tuynhuys amongst others. A lovely place to spend a day visiting the sites, or just relaxing amongst the greenery. The plans for its construction came into motion in 2008, and the urban space was finally open to public in 2011. Utilized by the residents around the area, the park is one of the best community spaces in the area. -
