We’ve designed the Morbark® 3800XL Wood Hog to be the best horizontal grinder on the market. It will dramatically increase your production capacity and operating efficiency, so you can fill your pockets as fast as it fills your trucks. • More Productive – A larger, more aggressive hammermill and independent drive motors on the feed-wheel and belt-chain result in a continuous feed with higher production, greater fuel efficiency, and a more consistent end product. • More Convenient – The Morbark Integrated Control System allows you to maximize production and keep the belt full with just an occasional tweak of your thumb. And you can conveniently service the grates and hammers while standing up, with plenty of headroom and space to work. • More Reliable – The 3800XL is protected from foreign objects by the best solution available: an externally adjustable breakaway torque limiter that releases instantly when overloaded without stalling the engine; this significantly reduces potential damage and decreases downtime. The Morbark® 3800XL Wood Hog is part of a full line of heavy-duty industrial grinders from the leader in the industry. A Resolution Urging Congress To Pass Comprehensive Federal Timber Reform Legislation By The Oregon Logging Conference February 19, 2015

WHEREAS, the U.S. House of Representatives passed H.R. 1526 during the 113th session of Congress in 2014, with strong bipartisan support, under the lead- ership of Oregon Congressmen DeFazio, Schrader and Walden to reform the management of federal forest lands in Oregon and across the nation, and

WHEREAS, H.R. 1526 would have increased timber harvest levels from federal forest lands administered by the Bureau of Land Management in western Oregon and National Forests under the jurisdiction of the U.S. Forest Service throughout the country; it included pro- visions to assure that the intended timber sales could proceed with a degree of certainty by expediting the resolution of administrative appeals and litigation; and it would have reconnected a revenue stream to rural counties to the sustainable production of forest prod- ucts, and

WHEREAS, the U.S. Senate Energy and Natural Re- sources Committee, Chaired by Oregon Senator Ron Wyden at the time, chose to ignore H.R. 1526 and pursued an alternative legislative initiative, S. 1784, that focused only on the O&C Forest Lands in Western Oregon managed by the Bureau of Land Management. Even though it would have placed more forest land off limits to management and impose even more restric- tions on how forests could be managed for timber pro- duction, Senator Wyden suggested it would “double” timber sale levels on those lands, and

The training involves some video instruction and a bit of hands-on activity with fire shelters. All persons who are provide services (such as dozers, tenders fallers) on a con- tractual basis to the ODF on the fire line are required to take the training that will be offered. The Department will provide the train- ing only. Operators interested in participat- ing in fire suppression efforts should check with local ODF offices with respect to their availability and capability to serve in sup- pression efforts. The training is also com- monly provided throughout the state by local Department offices. Look for signage at the ODF tent re- garding times the training will be offered.
