MORENO VALLEY may - august 2021

ACTIVITY GUIDE

(see back inside cover for details) SUMMER CAMPS See pg. 7

PARKS&COMMUNITY SERVICES Dear Moreno Valley Residents,

This edition of the Soaring Activity Guide is a welcome sign of how far we’ve come as a community since this time last year.

A year ago, in an effort to slow the spread of the virus, we had to move all activities online. Now, a year later, thanks to our combined efforts to practice masking, distancing and handwashing, and to get vaccinated, the situation has improved enough that we are able to once again provide many activities in person with safety modifications.

The City of Moreno Valley’s classes, sports, and other programs are some of the most popular services provided by the City, with tens of thousands of residents, from toddlers to seniors, taking advantage of at least one of the activities listed here.

Inside, you’ll find we offer opportunities for residents of all ages to do something they know and enjoy or maybe try something completely new that promises an exciting new experience. So I urge you to consider all the possibilities included in this Guide, including activities you’re unfamiliar with. One of them could start you on a new and interesting pathway.

Wishing you all a wonderfully healthy and fun summertime in MoVal!

COMMUNITY UPDATE: KEEPING OUR PARKS SAFE & MAINTAINING CRITICAL SERVICES

The Parks & Community Services Department wants to continue providing Moreno Valley residents and families with services that make our City a great place to live, work and raise a family.

As kids return to school and parents to work, it is critical that we have the ability to keep our children safe and thriving and continue to ensure that our parks and public areas are clean, safe and secure for everyone.

However, additional support will be necessary to help maintain the critical supervised after-school, park, recreation and library programs to keep children safe, off the streets and out of trouble and continue to connect those experiencing homelessness to the services they need.

That’s why we want to hear from you. The City is continuing to solicit feedback from the public on your priorities for local services. JOIN the Please visit us at www.moval.org/JoinTheConversation to give us your conversation perspective on how to rank community needs. Residential Customer
