Jacob Renteria Mrs. Mulvey/Parrot Eng. 1P/ Per. 2 17 March, 2017 Forbidden Love The two lovers that first caused a violent commotion, reluctantly bring peace to their hateful families by committing suicide. The play which is in Verona, Romeo and Juliet fall in love at a party that is secretly known who they are. They know that they won’t be able to get married but helped by Friar Laurence, they marry in secret Unfortunately, before the wedding Romeo kills Juliet's cousin Tybalt in a fight and in the morning he is forced to leave and banished If he ever returns to the town he will be killed or punished. Juliet's parents demanded her to marry Paris. Her parents don’t know that she is already married to Romero. She refuses to marry Paris in the start but later on agrees to marry him because she has made a plan with Friar to fake her death and run away with Romero forever. Friar Lawrence gives Juliet a sleeping potion. She appears to be dead and was put in a tomb where she lies However, Romeo didn’t know that there was any plan so he decides to visit her grave, thinks she is dead, and kills himself. When Juliet finally wakes up, she discovers that Romeo is dead and then kills herself. Pyramus and Thisbe are a couple of young Babylonians in love. Unfortunately, their families totally hate each other. The star-crossed lovers whisper sweet nothings through a crack in the wall that separates their houses, until they eventually can't take it anymore and decide to elope. But when Thisbe shows up under the mulberry tree where they're supposed to meet, a bloody-jawed lioness is hanging out there. Thisbe screams and runs, leaving her shawl behind. Pyramus arrives a little while later and finds the bloody lioness ripping apart the shawl. We can see where this is headed assuming Thisbe has been devoured, he stabs himself with his sword. Later Thisbe returns figures out the horrible thing that's happened, and stabs herself with Pyramus's sword, too. To this day, the formerly white berries of the mulberry tree are stained red with the blood of these tragic lovers. In the play we see motherly love between the nurse and Juliet love between Romeo and Rosaline, infatuation love between Romeo Juliet and the Friar almost like a fatherly or holy love and finally love between Romeo and Juliet true love. Love is not necessarily gentle. It hurts and overwhelms those who experience it. Romeo later claims that life without Juliet would be meaningless, too empty and painful to survive. He would rather die than live without her “My life were better ended by their hate, Than death prorogued, wanting of thy love.” (Shakespeare, Romeo). This means that he would rather die kill himself than be alone without her because without her love his life is hopeless since Juliet is the only person that he loves and he would do anything to be with her. This matters because not only that this book/movie shows what love can do to you on the bright side but also shows what it can do by suicide, murder, violence, and worthiness. But one thing is that it shows how much they care for each other that they would do anything to be with them. Conflict is one of the big themes in the story. Shakespeare shows the two warring families the Montagues and the Capulets. The two families have been taught to hate each other, and this hatred impacts on the family members and the citizens of Verona. The citizens of Verona are unwillingly a part of the conflict as they witness the ongoing battles between the two families battles which often result in death. Juliet's inner conflict when she discovers Romeo is a Montague, conflict between Tybalt and Romeo, conflict between Juliet and her father. This means that there is many conflict between these two families and even though they don’t explain much why they hate each other it shows that love can be complicated but shows the dedication that people put into it. This matters because they would have never fought for the love they would have never brought the families together but they never knew that they did since they were dead and also because they died for each other's love which made it interesting showing that they care. What I found in my thesis statement is that love is harsh and it’s hard to find the right person that will be with you for the rest of your life especially since it’s complicated for romeo and juliet because their families hate each other, romeo is forbidden to go to verona he isn’t allowed to see juliet and they are definitely not allowed to get married. So they get around the families putting both of their lives on there line to be with each other so they can be with one another..
