Lungo il Po, il Tevere ed il Tamigi La consacrazione – a lavori non ancora ultimati – dell’imponente chiesa dei santi Marcellino e Pietro precede di soli due anni la stampa di una delle raccolte monteverdiane più celebri e più discusse: a Venezia, per i tipi di Ricciardo Amadino, vengono stampati nel 1610 la «Sanctissimæ Virgini missa senis vocibus ad ecclesiarum choros» e il così detto Vespro della Beata Vergine, che segnano rispettivamente l’apertura e la conclusione della presente edizione del Festival Monteverdi, creando un ponte ideale tra la prima e la seconda pratica.

Naast die Christopher Watson, Ashley Turnell: tenor zo dit repertoire onder de aandacht van concerten treedt Peter Phillips geregeld op als Simon Whiteley, Greg Skidmore: bas John Tavener (1944) het grote publiek.
