Form guide • Stéphane Mbia's added-time volley earned Sevilla a 2-2 draw when the sides met in Croatia on matchday two. • Rijeka have yet to score in four games in Spain, but earned goalless draws in their two most recent visits – including a 0-0 result at Sevilla's neighbours Real Betis Balompié on matchday six in last season's UEFA Europa League group stage. • Having also drawn at home against Betis last season, Rijeka have drawn all three of their games against Seville clubs to date. • Sevilla have won their last four European home games; Rijeka have lost both of their Group G away fixtures thus far. Trivia and links • Rijeka are one of only four teams left in the competition who entered this season's UEFA Europa League in the second qualifying round, along with FC Krasnodar, FC Dinamo Minsk and Asteras Tripolis FC. The coaches • Sevilla coach since January 2013, one-time midfielder Unai Emery switched from playing to coaching at Lorca Deportiva CF. Having led UD Almería to the top tier, he coached Valencia CF from 2008 to 2012, with his side regular European contenders during that spell. More recently, he had a brief stint at FC Spartak Moskva. • Hired in February 2013, Rijeka coach Matjaž Kek led his native Slovenia to the 2010 FIFA World Cup finals. Kek started and ended his playing career as a defender at NK Maribor – where his father and son also played – either side of a long spell in Austria, and returned there to begin his coaching career. 3 Sevilla FC - HNK Rijeka Thursday 11 December 2014 - 21.05CET (21.05 local time) Match press kit Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán, Seville Team facts Sevilla FC Formed: 1905 Nickname: Los Hispalenses (from Hispalis, Seville's ancient name), Los Blanquirrojos (white-and-reds) UEFA club competition honours (runners-up in brackets) • UEFA Cup/UEFA Europa League (3): 2006, 2007, 2014 • UEFA Super Cup (1): 2006, (2007), (2014) Domestic honours (most recent triumph in brackets) Spanish title: 1 (1946) Spanish Cup: 5 (2010) Ten-year European record (UEFA Cup/UEFA Europa League unless indicated otherwise) 2013/14: winners 2012/13: did not take part in UEFA club competition 2011/12: play-offs 2010/11: round of 32 (having transferred from UEFA Champions League play-offs) 2009/10: UEFA Champions League round of 16 2008/09: group stage 2007/08: UEFA Champions League round of 16 2006/07: winners 2005/06: winners 2004/05: round of 16 Records UEFA club competition • Biggest home win 4-0 on four occasions, most recently v FC Karpaty Lviv 04/11/10, UEFA Europa League group stage • Biggest away win 1-6: FK Mladost Podgorica v Sevilla 09/08/13, UEFA Europa League third qualifying round second leg 0-5: WKS Śląsk Wrocław v Sevilla 29/08/13, UEFA Europa League play-off second leg • Heaviest home defeat 0-2: Sevilla v Real Betis Balompié 13/03/14, UEFA Europa League round of 16 first leg • Heaviest away defeat 8-0: Real Madrid CF v Sevilla 23/01/58, European Champion Clubs' Cup quarter-finals first leg UEFA Europa League/UEFA Cup • Biggest home win 4-0 on three occasions, most recently v FC Karpaty Lviv (see above) • Biggest away win 1-6: FK Mladost Podgorica v Sevilla (see above) 0-5: WKS Śląsk Wrocław v Sevilla (see above) • Heaviest home defeat 0-2: Sevilla v Real Betis Balompié (see above) • Heaviest away defeat 4-0: 1.
