This means that you need to take the following into account: S For a KLM flight to European destinations, check-in closes 40 minutes before departure; for a KLM flight to intercontinental destinations, check-in closes 60 minutes before departure (with the exception of Paramaribo). S Check-in closing means that you must ensure that you are checked in and that you have a boarding pass before the indicated closing time for check-in. This means that you should leave sufficient time to find your way around the airport and account for possible long lines at the check-in desk. S To facilitate a smooth, comfortable check-in, we recommend that you keep to the recommended check-in times as indicated. Depending on which airport you will be departing from, you will need to calculate between 2 and 4 hours. S If you check in after the indicated check-in deadline, you run the risk of losing your reserved seat and therefore not being allowed to board. You will also lose any rights to “denied boarding” compensation. S If you are waiting in line and expect that you will arrive too late to check in, please let one of the KLM employees know. S For detailed information about check-in deadlines and recommended check-in times per departure airport, click here. Check-in times per departure airport Departing from: Recommended check-in time: Check-in deadline: Amsterdam You can only check in on the day of your departure, starting at 6 a.m. Domestic 2 hours before departure 40 minutes before departure Within Europe 2 hours before departure 40 minutes before departure Intercontinental 2 hours before departure 60 minutes before departure Europe 2 hours before departure 40 minutes before departure USA & Canada 2 hours before departure 60 minutes before departure Caribbean 2 hours before departure 60 minutes before departure Middle East 2 hours before departure 60 minutes before departure Exceptions: Tel Aviv 3 hours before departure Damascus 3 hours before departure Amman 3 hours before departure Teheran 3 hours before departure Beirut 3 hours before departure Abu Dhabi 3 hours before departure Dammam 3 hours before departure Dubai 3 hours before departure Asia 2 hours before departure 60 minutes before departure Exceptions: Almaty 3 hours before departure Bangkok 3 hours before departure Beijing 3 hours before departure Delhi 4 hours before departure Jakarta 3 hours before departure Hong Kong 3 hours before departure Kuala Lumpur 3 hours before departure Mumbai 4 hours before departure South America 2 hours before departure 60 minutes before departure Exceptions: Sao Paolo 3 hours before departure Guayaquil 3 hours before departure Lima 3 hours before departure Paramaribo 4 hours before departure 120 minutes before departure Africa 2 hours before departure 60 minutes before departure Exceptions: Abuja 3 hours before departure Dar es Salaam 3 hours before departure Kano 3 hours before departure Lagos 4 hours before departure Valid from June 1 – July 31, 2006 flight & oper. travel flight & oper. travel flight & oper. travel days dep. arr. validity by time stop days dep. arr. validity by time stop days dep. arr. validity by time stop ABERDEEN SD (ABR) MEXICO CITY DELHI to 123456- 0700 0800 AF8125 AM 1:00 0 1234567 0810 0935 9W702 1:25 0 JAMESTOWN ND Jun06-Jul31 12345- 7 1945 2110 9W706 1:25 0 1234567 1140 1240 AF8101 AM 1:00 0 1234567 2250 2330 NW3001 XJ 0:40 0 1234567 1555 1655 KL9001 AM 1:00 0 MUMBAI Jun01-Jun07 ---45-- 2125 2225 AF8125 AM 1:00 0 1234567 0720 0820 9W322 1:00 0 1234567 2257 2337 NW3001 XJ 0:40 0 Jun01-Jun02 ----5-- 1145 1245 9W328 1:00 0 Jun08-Jul31 ------7 2130 2235 AF8125 AM 1:05 0 1234- 6- 1230 1330 9W328 1:00 0 MINNEAPOLIS MN Jun04-Jun04 1234567 1450 1610 9W3416 1:20 0 1- 34567 1850 1950 9W326 1:00 0 1234567 0705 0827 NW3002 XJ 1:22 0 1234567 2030 2135 9W324 1:05 0 1234567 1100 1225 NW3004 XJ 1:25 0 ACCRA (ACC) 1234567 2325 0025+1 9W330 1:00 0 Jun08-Jul31 to 1234567 1102 1224 NW3004 XJ 1:22 0 AMSTERDAM Jun01-Jun07 1234567 2110 0600+1 KL590 6:50 0 AJACCIO (AJA) 1234567 1450 1612 NW3006 XJ 1:22 0 to Jun01-Jun07 NAIROBI CLERMONT-FERRAND 1234567 1453 1616 NW3006 XJ 1:23 0 -2--5-- 2000 0440+1 KQ501 5:40 0 1------ 1230 1350 AF5399 YS 1:20 0 Jun08-Jul31 1----6- 2030 0510+1 KQ502 5:40 0 Jul31-Jul31 1234567 1853 2025 NW3000 XJ 1:32 0 -----6- 1315 1435 AF5399 YS 1:20 0 Jun08-Jul31 ADDIS ABABA (ADD) ----5-- 1315 1435 AF5399 YS 1:20 0 1234567 1856 2018 NW3000 XJ 1:22 0 to Jul14-Jul14 Jun01-Jun07 AMSTERDAM ------7 1645 1805 AF5399 YS 1:20 0 1--4-6- 2255 0550+1 KL543 7:55 0 ABERDEEN U.K.

  • Airlines and Subsidy: Our Position ¬
Airlines and subsidy: our position ¬ Myth Airline subsidies are a “Gulf” problem FACT Market-distorting subsidies and government support are sadly present in every world region Myth Emirates is subsidised FACT Completely unsubsidised. We campaign against airline subsidies Myth Emirates accesses cheap or free fuel FACT False. We buy fuel from BP, Shell and Chevron in Dubai and worldwide at market rates Myth US and European airlines received support decades ago but are now subsidy-free FACT Bankruptcy protection and government bailouts continue to exist Airlines and subsidy: our position ¬ We understand that despite no evidence, an oft repeated myth can ultimately be accepted as conventional wisdom. In this document you will find our views on subsidy in the airline industry, thorough explanations about Emirates’ business model and our response to misrepresentations that have been levelled against us - from claims about subsidised fuel, financial support and staff conditions to environmental regulation and airport charges. Emirates believes: • A common set of transparent financial reporting metrics to measure and apply against all international carriers should be determined by IATA and ICAO on what defines a subsidy. • Governments should not provide injections, borrowings or financing to airlines, regardless of shareholding status. • All governments should pursue liberalisation and open skies with the objective to end the greatest subsidy of all – aero-political protection.
