Luis Rodrigo Guajardo Díaz Teléfono: +56 9 509 73 18 Email: [email protected] Website: www.theguaz.com Santiago de Chile Married, without kids, 37 years old. Creative Developer-Technologist with more than 10 years of work experience, thinker and currently teaching, working fulltime on an agency and also doing side projects as an independant contractor for Chilean and foreign clients. Excellent technical skills using software based and physical tools, client focussed, teamwork oriented, self- disciplined, proactive, able to work under pressure and able to meet thight deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously, also I can lead teams of people that can be a mix of developers, designers, and also people that build the physical installations like contractors or handcraft teams. On my daily basis I use a lots of tools, software and many things together to complete ideas or projects. I do a lot of flash using actionscript to mockup things because I was a a former as3 developer when young, away3d, starling framework, video integration, arduino-air integration, AIR for iOS, scripted, animation, etc. These days I choosed to move away a little bit from the web and focus on experiments and real projects using tools related to interaction design scope like arduino, raspberry pi, adobe AIR, iBeacons, madmapper, processing, openframeworks, kinect, wowza and other tools; part of those jobs an demos can be seen on my vimeo channel http://vimeo.com/theguaz I can manage remote projects that require one or more of these tools/abilities. And also php/javacript knowledge, I have experience inherited form my as3 days using social API’s tha now was ported to my current works, until last year I used to teach a class on that topic twice a year on creating responsive facebook apps at Universidad del Pacífico, Santiago de Chile. Also I’m a teacher at Universidad del Desarrollo on its Digital Design program of Design School, the name of my course is Interactive Projects Media Lab, we use lot of different technologies to create projects focusing on how to apply them to build experiences, installations and prototypes. Professional Experience PORTA-Imagina / Since May 2015 - Present Creative Technologist / Senior Developer At Imagina my main task is to lead a new section called ImaginaLAB where I’m on charge of development of installations, make proposals for mobile apps and websites using trending technologies as well as prototypes and demos for physical and digital projects, also contribute to the younger dev team with knowledge to help them with their daily work. Here I realized that I knew a lot of different programming languages, prototyping techniques, motion/UI animation skills, and a large etcetera. The team of creatives look for my opinion to think new strategies or campaigns. On my normal day I can do the following: Maybe I use Flash to build GPU accelerated mobile & desktop) connected to something else, that can be another app built also by me like a socket.io/node.js app, or a Unity3D app, OpenFrameworks test, maybe an electronic device also built by me using Arduino board or a raspberryPI or the new ESP system-on-chip modules. Or maybe the main app is a mobile site that needs to be driving another interactive piece in another app or device, that site could be animated like the ones I use to animate with flash, so I choose SVG + Greensock for the animation and because of the good looking the animation results to be mapped into something later. Myself or anyone else may have a new idea or concept that needs to be explained un 3D with a solid proof of concept that cannot be built using agency daily working time so my task is to do it from scratch, so using 3D software a model is built, and that will set the bases that I will need later based on my criteria to make it small an light to perform real time, render it and import it on the interactive platform of choice to do a mockup or a real prototype. There are days that starts in front of a 3D printer or a laser cutting machine, others casting on resine, I have maker mind and experience to give form to things or ideas. Some days are a mix of any of the above or sometimes everything is new and need to be learned from ground. Universidad del Desarrollo / August 2014 – Present Interactive Labs Teacher Guide, inspire and teach 4th year design students about trendings, techniques and workflows using my experience on interaction design and creative development. My role should be key on how the final projects of the students and reflect the way they understand the technologies used on creating new kind of interactive objects and experiences, the main goal is to be a partner for all of them so they can fully prototype / execute their ideas with a professional eye for details while they do it. Universidad del Pacífico / Since March 2013 Speaker on Facebook Apps development course. I currently teach a 4 week course on developing facebook apps using PHP/JS/AS3 to 15 postgraduate students. It will be teached again on September and twice each year from now. Digital Bond / Since January 2012 up to May 2014 Creative Technologist / Senior Developer At Digital Bond my main tasks were to contribute in advanced interactive projects from start, working with the team of designers and developers to add new features and technologies to those projects. Also leading and inspiring the dev team with my experience in the digital field. I research for new trends and technologies, having to decide when to use them. MAYO DRAFT/FCB (March 2010 to Dec 2011) Senior Flash Developer. My tasks at the agency were to write reusable ActionScript classes, have a solid understanding on how develop and produce Rich Internet Applications. - Make apps connected to backend systems built on PHP database integration, experiment using APIs such as Google Maps, Papervision3D, Facebook and Twitter. - Watch for performance and optimization of each application. - Use my middle graphic design and motion graphics skills to make prototypes before/along with design team. theguaz.com. / Since 2003 up to today Creative Developer. As the founder of my interactive studio, my main goal is to make everything happen, from initiating the relationship with a client to project analysis, assessments, team managment, prepare, and making sure the work is completed according to the clients expected results.
