What is Downsview Hub? Located at 70 Canuck Ave., Downsview Hub is an on-site community engagement space created by Lands Company to cultivate community building opportunities, and strengthen public participation in the Downsview area. Overall, our goal is to strengthen and support the Downsview community by providing the neighbourhood with a central gathering place, a source of information and resources on all things Downsview, and a place to be exposed to exciting organizations and groups with valuable initiatives.

The Hub will allow programming partners to connect with the Downsview community, gain exposure to different audiences, and explore opportunities at the Downsview Lands. We are looking to key organizations in the community and the City of Toronto to help develop collaborative programming that will encourage activity and participation at Downsview while introducing participants to organizations and groups like yours that are part of exciting initiatives in Toronto.

When is the Downsview Hub open? The Hub is currently open on the 2nd and 4th sunday of each month from 10 am to 2 pm, as well as for special events. Check the Downsview Lands website, www.downsviewpark.ca for updated hours.

Where is Downsview Hub located? The Hub is located in in a 2700 sqft. space on the 1st floor at 70 Canuck Ave., suite 102, near the intersection of Sheppard Avenue and .

What facilities are provided at Downsview Hub? The Hub will be outfitted with tables, chairs, and a television. Basic facilities such as restrooms are available. The Hub will include a physical model of the Downsview Lands, project information panels, and a boardroom table.

The building has surface parking available and is located adjacent to the urban agricultural space.

How do you get to Downsview Hub? Downsview Hub is accessible by car and public transit routes. From Sheppard West subway station, bus routes 84, 101, 106, and 108B will bring you to Keele St. and Sheppard Ave., a short walk from 70 Canuck Ave. From Downsview Park Subway/GO station it is a 18 minute walk.

1 What opportunities exist for programming the Hub? We are looking for the Hub to become a vibrant space, welcome to everyone. While components of the installations are permanent the space is easily transformed to suit different needs. We envision:

• Art installations and showcases • Exhibits on urban issues • Walkshops that explore features of Downsview Park • Lectures on urban issues • Cultural events of all kinds • Hands-on Workshops • Meeting space for community groups

Your proposal should include details such as dates, length and time of events, material or equipment requirements, anticipated attendance, and target audience.

What is Downsview lands and Downsview Park? The Downsview Lands is comprised of 572 acres including almost 300 acres of public parkland. The future of the site includes the development of new residential and commercial communities, new municipal parks, a TTC/GO transit Hub, and Aerospace campus.
