Original Pensions Bill plans to change Final Pensions Act 2011 plans to change

NOTES State pension age for women was due to rise to 65 by April 2020 under the Pensions Act 1995. The Pensions Bill 2011 proposed changing the timetable so it would rise to 65 by November 2018 And it proposed raising state pension age to 66 for men and women by April 2020. The Bill was amended at the last minute to delay that second change to October 2020. The total number whose pension will be paid later under Pensions Act 2011 is five million men and women. Most face a delay of a year, but the delay will be more than a year for 500,000 women. Of those, 300,000 face a delay of 18 months No men will face a delay of more than a year.
