Studies regarding the impact of urbanisation on the soundscape 16 and acoustic behaviours of sound-producing animals tend to overlook invertebrates, including 17 the crickets. Almost nothing is known about their acoustic community in the urban 18 environment, especially for Southeast Asia where rapid urbanisation is widespread. -

Seven species are thus confirmed or re-established as valid species (C. novaeguineae (Hann, 1842), C. canotus Saussure, 1878, C. gaimardi (Serville, 1838), C. haani Saussure, 1878, C. guttulus (Matsumura, 1913), C. pictus Saussure, 1878 and C. rufidulusSaussure, 1878), then assigned to a species group and redescribed by combining information from old type KEY WORDS series and newer material; two species are considered as nomen dubium (new Insecta, status or confirmation of previous hypotheses: C. praecipuus (Walker, 1869) Orthoptera, and C. philippinensis Bolívar, 1913); and two species described recently are Grylloidea, Eneopterinae, synonymised with older species (C. boharti Otte, 2007 under C. guttulus, Lebinthini. Efforts to find an alternative, virus-resistant field cricket species have led to the widespread USA (and European) distribution of a previously unnamed Gryllus species despite existing USA federal regulations to prevent such movement. We analyze and describe this previously unnamed Gryllus and propose additional measures to minimize its potential risk to native fauna and agriculture. The species of eight genera, viz., Tarbinskiellus, Phonarellus, Callogryllus, Plebiogryllus, Tartarogryllus, Gryllopsis, Gryllus and Gryllodes belonging to the subfamily Gryllinae are presented. Each genus is represented by a single species in Pakistan. The former five genera and their representative species are new record to the area, while two species, i.e. Callogryllus ovilongus and Plebiogryllus retiregularis are new to science. New taxa are described in detail, while only the differential and ew characters, if any, from the published descriptions, are given in case of already described species. Description, photos of habitus, figure of male genitalia, oscillogram and spectrogram for the calling sound are provided for aid identification. Voucher specimens are deposited in the collection of National Institute of Biological Resources, Incheon, Korea. Provide information on the taxonomy of the species The following information is required about the taxonomy of the species and its role in its natural environment: a) Family name: Gryllidae b) Genus name: Gryllodes c) Species: sigillatus d) Subspecies: There are no known subspecies for Gryllodes sigillatus. However, for many decades Gryllodes sigillatus was often incorrectly named as Gryllodes supplicans. G. sigillatus and G. supplicans are now known as two distinct species (see attached reference by Otte, 2006) e) Taxonomic Reference: Otte, D & Alexander, RD (1983) The Australian Crickets (Orthoptera: Gryllidae). Otte, D (2006) Gryllodes sigillatus (Walker) is a valid species distinct from Gryllodes supplicans (Walker). E-mail: [email protected] Systematic position and composition of the endemic American tribe Paroecanthini are dis- cussed. This tribe is divided into two subtribes: Paroecanthina stat. nov. (from Paroecanthini Gorochov, 1986) and Tafaliscina stat. nov. (from Tafaliscinae Desutter, 1988). Five new gen- era, 24 new species and 6 new subspecies are described. Systematic position and distribution of true and possible taxa of Paroecanthini are clarified, and some of these taxa are redescribed. Orocharis eclectos Otte, 2006, syn. nov. is synonymised with Paroecanthus mexicanus Sau- ssure, 1859 which is restored as type species of Paroecanthus Saussure, 1859 according to origi- nal monotypy of this genus. Orocharis signatus Walker, 1869 and Carsidava Walker, 1869 are excluded from synonymy of P. mexicanus and Paroecanthus, respectively. Orocharis signatus is considered to be a probable synonym of P. aztecus aztecus Saussure, 1874. Carsidava and Chremon Rehn, 1930, syn. nov. are considered possible and evident synonyms of Ectotrypa Saussure, 1874, respectively. Angustitrella vicina (Chopard, 1912), sp. resurr. and A. picipes (Bruner, 1916), sp. resurr. are restored from synonymy of A. podagrosa (Saussure, 1897) and Siccotrella niger (Saussure, 1874), respectively. Importation of Fresh Fruit of Avocado, Persea americana Miller var. ‘Hass’, into the Continental United States from Colombia A Pathway-Initiated Risk Assessment October 31, 2016 Version 4 Agency Contact: Plant Epidemiology and Risk Analysis Laboratory Center for Plant Health Science and Technology United States Department of Agriculture Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service Plant Protection and Quarantine 1730 Varsity Drive, Suite 300 Raleigh, NC 27606 Pest Risk Assessment for Hass Avocado from Colombia Executive Summary The Republic of Colombia requested approval for imports into the continental United States of fresh avocado fruit, Persea americana Mill. var. ‘Hass’, without a peduncle. Because this commodity has not been imported from Colombia before, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) conducted a pathway-initiated risk assessment to determine the risks associated with importing these ‘Hass’ avocados. We developed a list of pests known to occur in Colombia and associated with avocado based on the scientific literature, port-of-entry pest interception data, and information provided by the Colombian Ministry for Agriculture and Rural Development, and the Colombian Agricultural Institute (ICA). Commercial ‘Hass’ avocado is a conditional non-host for the fruit flies, Anastrepha fraterculus, A. striata, and Ceratitis spp. Thus, we did not list these organisms in the assessment. We determined that three quarantine arthropod pests were likely to follow the pathway, and qualitatively analyzed them to determine the unmitigated risk posed to the United States. Keys to all genera are pre sented, and a synonymy, diagnosis, and discussion of each genus follow. Included for each genus is information about its distribution, its rela tionship to other genera, its composition in terms of the species belong ingto it, aids to its recognition, and references for identifying its species. Several diagnostic characteristics and the wing of at least one species in almost every genus have been illustrated. Four genera, previously re garded as valid, have been synonymized with others, and three addi tional genera, long recorded from the region, are shown not to occur in the New World or to belong to other fly families.
