COMMENCEMENT SPEAKERS For the 2020 Commencement Ceremony, graduates are invited to submit names of notable individuals for consideration of both the Commencement Speaker and Graduate Salutation. Commencement Speaker nominees should be individuals whose accomplishments and values are exemplary. All submissions will be reviewed by the Commencement Speaker Committee and final recommendations will be forwarded to the Office of the Provost. All submissions must be received by October 1, 2019 via the Commencement Speaker Nomination Form: rfu.ms/gradspeaker. Graduate Salutation nominees will be solicited by each graduating program. The Graduate Salutation will be given by a student graduating in the 2020 Commencement Ceremony, who will deliver a short address to their fellow graduates. Each program will select one nominee from their class to be forwarded to the Commencement Speaker Committee. Final nominees from each program will be required to submit a written draft speech and deliver their speech in-person or via a video recording for the Commencement Speaker Committee. One final selection will be chosen no later than February 1, 2020. Please watch for more information in your email for your program’s nomination form, expected to be released in October 2019.
