Confidential 9 9 SUMMERIZATION Simple, intuitive and personalized news summarization for mobile Summly came to SRI with a core concept to solve an information management challenge, for mobile devices – content summarization. Building on SRI's expertise in machine learning and natural language processing, the Summly team was able to rapidly create a new type of content, providing understandable and relevant summaries tailored for mobile devices. Result: • 3 months from project to product • Eliminated ½ hr of human curating per article Yahoo! acquired Summly and based the Yahoo! News Digest app on its technology. Yahoo! Confidential AI / Predictive Analytics Bringing simplicity and prediction to transportation SRI is helping Fujitsu and Jorudan to redefine and implement a user-centric transportation app. Utilizing the next generation AI platforms we combined deep understanding, reasoning, and in-depth knowledge of specific domains, such as urban transportation to provide real-time prediction and planning. Confidential Bringing simplicity and human-like interaction to online banking experience BBVA came to SRI to help it define and implement a customer- centric banking vision, which included bringing the simplicity and reassurance of in-branch banking to the online world. Utilizing the next generation virtual personal assistant platform pioneered at SRI, the Lola system was developed based on conversational natural language understanding, reasoning, and in- depth knowledge of specific domains, such as banking. In order to accelerate participation in a growing market, J&J leveraged SRI’s 20+ years of surgical robotics experience to develop new robotics tools and capabilities for surgeons and operating room professionals that integrate J&J’s medical devices with leading-edge robotics systems and data systems.
