North Horsham Parish North Horsham Parish HDC SHELAA Housing Land Report by Parish, December 2018 North Horsham Parish The following sites have been considered as part of the December 2018 SHELAA Housing Land Assessment for the Parish. A map depicting the entire site area and summary of each site assessment is included on the following pages. Please note that the classification of a site is based on the classification of the developable area within that site, therefore if part of a site is considered ‘developable’ 6‐10 years, the whole site would be coloured yellow, however in reality only part of that site may be considered suitable for development. The outcome of the assessment for North Horsham Parish is summarised as follows: SHELAA Site Name Site Address Outcome of Total Units Reference assessment Green (1-11 Years SA139 9-13 Crawley Road Horsham 15 Deliverable) Green (1-11 Years Deliverable) and Land North of Horsham, Holbrook Park and Chennells Brook- SA296 Yellow (6-10 Years 2750 Strategic Site Strategic Site and 11+ Years Developable) Green (1-5 Years SA533 The Fountain Inn 81 Rusper Road, Horsham 5 Deliverable) The Pavilion Graylands Green (1-5 Years SA582 Langhurstwood Road 7 Estate Deliverable) Green (1-5 Years SA605 Scout HQ site, Peary Close Peary Close, Horsham 8 Deliverable) Green (1-5 Years SA638 Land at The Holbrook Club Jackdaw Lane, Horsham 58 Deliverable) Novartis Pharmaceuticals Wimblehurst Green (1-5 Years SA688 28 Site (North) Road/Parsonage Road, Horsham Deliverable) Roffey Sports and Social Yellow (6-10 Years SA145 Spooners Road, Horsham 70 Club Developable) Yellow (6-10 Years SA285 Old Pumping Station 133 Rusper Road, Horsham 30 Developable) Yellow (11+ Years SA138 137 Crawley Road Horsham 21 Developable) Yellow (11+ Years SA144 Parsonage Farm Parsonage Road, Horsham 127 Developable) The Rising Sun PH, Yellow (11+ Years SA530 The Rising Sun 6 Pondtail Road Developable) Land at Holbrook School Yellow (11+ Years SA604 Land at Holbrook School Lane, Horsham 5 Lane, Developable) Not Currently SA048 Land south of Forest Road Horsham 0 Developable Not Currently SA088 Land north of Forest Road Forest Road, Horsham 0 Developable Not Currently SA127 Land off Old Crawley Road Horsham 0 Developable HDC SHELAA Housing Land Report by Parish, December 2018 Not Currently SA146 Star Reservoir Comptons Brow Lane, 0 Developable Land east of 4 Ramsey Not Currently SA241 Horsham 0 Close Developable Not Currently SA246 Medleys Comptons Brow Lane 0 Developable Not Currently SA363 Graylands Estate Langhurst Wood Road Horsham 0 Developable Not Currently SA387 Scrapyard 122 Crawley Road, Horsham 0 Developable Not Currently SA388 The Star Public House Crawley Road, Horsham 0 Developable Novartis Pharmaceuticals Not Currently SA390 Wimblehurst Road Horsham 0 Site (South) Developable Not Currently SA444 Langhurstwood Road North Horsham, West Sussex 0 Developable Not Currently SA568 Land around Mercer Road Warnham Station 0 Developable Land at 78 Crawley Road Not Currently SA705 78 Crawley Road Roffey 0 Roffey Developable Not Currently SA736 Land at Planet House North Heath Lane Industrial Estate 0 Developable Land at Graylands and Not Currently SA750 North Horsham 0 Morris Farm Developable Not Currently SA751 Land at Huntley Farm Old Holbrook, North Horsham 0 Developable HDC SHELAA Housing Land Report by Parish, December 2018 Parish North Horsham SHLAA Reference SA139 Site Name 9-13 Crawley Road Years 1-5 Deliverable Site Address Horsham, West Sussex Years 6-10 Developable Years 11+ Site Area (ha) 0.29 Suitable Not Currently Developable Greenfield/PDL PDL Available Site Total 15 Achievable Justification The site is within the built up area of Horsham Town. The site is allocated for 15 dwellings in the Site Specific Allocations of Land (2007) (SSAL) Policy AL1 meaning it is considered suitable for development. An application for 35 dwellings (DC/17/1853) was refused and dismissed on appeal in August 2018. It should be noted that the application covered a larger area and for more dwellings than the allocation as it also included 15 Crawley Road. The site is therefore assessed to be deliverable for 15 dwellings in years 1-5. • Newsletter September 2013 Continued from the Front Page Runway
64 Horsham Society Newsletter September 2013 continued from the front page runway. There was no prior consultation and virtually no analysis of the merits of the HORSHAM case. In essence it was simply asserted that a second runway at Gatwick was necessary Newsletter to maintain and increase economic growth and that the county would suffer if future airport expansion was to go elsewhere. The reason for haste was that it would be helpful SOCIETY for Gatwick to be able to tell the Davies Commission that it had WSCC support and by September 2013 being helpful now it would give the council a seat at the table in working out the details later. To us this seems simply naïve. Once again, despite a predominant north/south divide in the debate, Horsham’s position was compromised by speeches in support of the motion from the town’s three Liberal Drill Hall Democrat councillors and silence from the town’s Tories. It was left to Labour members New threats to our town from Crawley and a few brave Tories to make but fail to win the case that the motion was lthough long expected, the District Council’s draft District Planning e reported last time that we had premature and unnecessary, and the council should wait to see Gatwick’s proposals Framework Preferred Strategy has revealed its short sighted political applied to have the Drill Hall before expressing a view. A W expediency and lack of proper process. Inside we look in more detail at the registered as a Community Asset. alternatives that seem to have been ignored with little or no explanation but the The most depressing aspect of all this is that if Gatwick is successful in winning an early headline is simple.
