Sunday, November 15 NATIONAL BOUND STATE CHAMPIONSHIP Hosted by Massachusetts Hockey FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 13 – SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 15 New England Sports Center (16U and 18U) and Rodman Arena (14U) WELCOME TO THE 2015-16 MASSACHUSETTS HOCKEY NATIONAL BOUND STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS! On behalf of Massachusetts Hockey, we would like to welcome you to the National Bound State Championships. With 52 teams in six categories competing this weekend, fans and scouts will have the opportunity to watch some of the best youth hockey in the country. The tournament format will be as follows: 1. All teams will play three (3) games in their respective pool or crossover pool. 2. Standings will be posted at the conclusion of the three game pool play. 3. Semi Finals and Finals will take place on Sunday, November 15. 4. All games are played to completion on a 3-point system a. Regulation Win – 3 points b. Shootout Win – 2 points c. Shootout Loss – 1 point d. Regulation Loss – 0 points 5. We will follow the tiebreaker procedure as outlined in the 2015-16 USA Hockey District and National Championship Guidebook (available online at USAHockey.com) in the event of ties within pool play. 6. Teams advancing to the Semi Finals will be determined as follows: a. 14U Tier I (Eight teams): Top two (2) teams from “Pool A” and top two (2) teams from “Pool B”. b. 14U Tier II (Eight teams): Top two (2) teams from “Pool A” and top two (2) teams from “Pool B”. c. 16U Tier I (Eight teams): Top two (2) teams from “Pool A” and top two (2) teams from “Pool B”. d. 16U Tier II (12 teams): Top two (2) teams from “Pool A” and “Pool B” (teams can come from either pool); and top two (2) teams from “Pool C” and “Pool D” (teams can come from either pool). e. 18U Tier I (Eight teams): Top two (2) teams from “Pool A” and top two (2) teams from “Pool B”. f. 18U Tier II (10 teams): Top team from “Pool C”; top two teams from “Pool A” and “Pool B” (teams can come from either pool); and top remaining team after other three teams are selected. All decisions are subject to the approval of the Massachusetts Hockey Tournament Chair. Thank you again for participating, attending and enjoying this year’s National Bound State Championships! We serve Boston families with limited resources. Our mission is to provide a high quality education that develops the individual gifts of each student and prepares her for success in competitive secondary schools and colleges. Originally created in the Catholic tradition, the school is now fully independent. We recognize the dignity, value, and assets of each person. The Academy emphasizes the importance of scholarship, leadership, and social and moral development. We Matter What a year this has been! With the abrupt school closings on March 15, 2020, our ability to come together as a team was imperative for our students and their families. We quickly realized we would not be returning to school for some time and made every effort to stay true to our mission: “by focusing on the needs of the whole family and by preserving a spirit of volunteerism and commitment among all those who aid, support and benefit from MCAEC”. In the days after the school closing, we were able to connect with many donors committing to continued support. Additionally, Phill and Elizabeth Gross offered to help us to achieve our gala goal through a match challenge. This funding, coupled with a Covid Emergency Fund, provided us the opportunity to supply each student with a computer, upgrade our school building with a Nurse’s pod and isolation rooms, new floors, PPE, handwashing stations, and sneeze guards.
