Introducing our new Expo Tyer Chair – Hal Gordon Hal Gordon grew up in the intermountain west fishing the blue ribbon waters of Utah, Idaho and Wyoming. He began tying flys at age eleven and has been a semi-professional fly tyer ever since. Hal moved to Oregon 25 years ago to work in natural resources and fishery issues as an agricultural economist. Over the past ten years he has taught an Atlantic salmon fly tying class at River City Fly Shop in Beaverton, Oregon. He was selected as the 2010 Oregon FFF Fly Tyer of the Year. He recently published his first fly-fishing book on Amazon.com: “Drag-Free Drifts, Fifty Years of Fly Fishing Trips”. Hal is currently the tyer chair at the Fly Tying and Fly Fishing Expo in Albany, Oregon.
