The annual review and the financial statements of the parent company of the Group are prepared in accordance with the Finnish Accounting Act as well as the guidelines and statements of the Finnish Accounting Standards Board. The information on personnel is based on the calculation systems used by human resource management, and the calculation of the rel- evant information is in compliance with the general guidelines of the Finnish Accounting Stand- ards Board concerning the preparation annual reviews. The environmental data is collected from the information reported to the authorities and from the company’s own data compilation systems. An external emissions trading verifier has verified our carbon dioxide emission report. In other re- spects, the corporate responsibility information has not been verified. Sustainability reporting covers the economic, social and environmental impacts of Fingrid Group’s own operations in 2011. We apply the international GRI G3.0 (Global Reporting Initiative) report- ing guidelines for the first time to our sustainability reporting. Seismic Soundings at the Muhos Formation
SEISMIC SOUNDINGS AT THE MUHOS FORMATION H. KORHONEN and M. T. PORKKA KORHONEN H. and PORKKA M. T. 1975: Seismic soundings at the Muhos formation. Bull. Geol. Soc. Finland 47, 19—24. The Muhos formation near the city of Oulu in Finland consists of sedimentary rocks lying on the Precambrian bedrock. The thickness of this Jotnian forma- tion varies from a few tenth of meters to one kilometer. The formation is covered by Quaternary deposits. Seismic refraction surveys made at selected sites on the formation show velocities from 300 to 1 900 m/s for Quaternary deposits and from 4 700 to 5 800 m/s for the basement. In Jotnian sedimentary rocks the velocities vary from 2 000 to 4 100 m/s generally increasing with depth. At site Tupos, in the middle of the formation the refraction profiling, however, did not yield results from depths greater than 200—300 m. This is in disagreement with the well-velocity survey, which indicated higher velocities at greater depths. The contradiction might be explained by a low velocity layer situated near the top of the formation. The density determina- tions support this interpretation. H. Korhonen and M. T. Successful Launch of Swe Common Synchronised Operations with Nwe Price
North-Western Price Coupling of South-Western Europe Regions Europe SUCCESSFUL LAUNCH OF SWE COMMON SYNCHRONISED OPERATIONS WITH NWE PRICE COUPLING 4 February 2014. The South-Western Europe (SWE) and North-Western Europe (NWE) day-ahead price coupling project partners are pleased to announce the successful launch of common synchronised operations of NWE and SWE day-ahead markets. Full price coupling on the French-Spanish border will be launched at a later stage. This has been decided by the project partners, following common testing and alignment of Gate Closure Times. Both projects operate using the systems and procedures provided by the Price coupling of Regions (PCR) initiative. This launch is a significant step towards an integrated European power market. In pursuit of European day-ahead Price coupling, NWE and SWE have designed a step-by-step approach to integrate the Iberian market and NWE. Steps to integrate the day-ahead markets in the SWE and NWE regions have been underway since April 2013, addressing the joint testing of systems and operational procedures for the combined NWE and SWE regions. Alignment of timings in the SWE and NWE day-ahead markets successfully took place on 15 October 2013, when the Iberian day-ahead Gate Closure Time was switched to 12h00 CET. The penultimate step was achieved on 4 February with the go-live of common synchronised operations of the NWE and SWE projects for delivery on 5 February 2014. SWE uses the same PCR systems and operational procedures as NWE. For the time being, PCR will operate without offering capacity at the French-Spanish border to the price coupling, so the daily explicit auction on this border will be maintained as it is today. -

Shooting ranges are not covered by the scope of the Industrial Emissions Directive, so there is no joint European steering for the Best Available Techniques. Over the last years, a high-level national environmental protection guideline has been pre- pared by the so-called AMPY project involving, for example, the environmental administration. Regardless of this, both the shooting range operators and the representatives of the public ad- ministration saw fit to collect the technical and procedural solutions of environmental protection at shooting ranges and assess them in more detail. -
