Cable and Deadpool is, on the surface, an almost entirely nonsensical idea for a teamup book. Luckily, Nicieza seems to have Deadpool & Cable: Ultimate Collection Book 1 that. Most of this large 18 issues collection is dedicated to sorting out why they're Cable and Deadpool are together in the first place. There are issues, of course. Cable's power level seems to be really overreaching to me, for one. Also, this isn't quite the Deadpool I'm used to. It may be because we aren't so much in his head from a narration standpoint, b Cable and Deadpool is, on the surface, an almost entirely nonsensical idea for a teamup book. But the recap pages, when they start showing up, are great, and there are some truly priceless scenes Sinister's entire appearance is gold. Lots of pretty crazy stories. Often read like I was missing parts - were there linked episodes in X-Force or Cable or some other title? Did get the feeling that the rest of the series would improve so I'll continue reading the collections. But for the most part this collection was not all that great. In a series of panels on one page, Deadpool watches TV in his disfigured glory. He's watching TV day and night, day and night. Then the phone rings, and a voice asks for Deadpool. Wade Wilson, in just boxers, goes off panel Deadpool & Cable: Ultimate Collection Book 1 returns still in boxers, but is now wearing Deadpool & Cable: Ultimate Collection Book 1 mask. One of the better collections I've read, especially of contemporary comics. Nicieza's writing has clearly evolved since the s, as it's generally sharp, short, and captures each character well. Zircher's artwork was Deadpool & Cable: Ultimate Collection Book 1 consistently appealing, and the team worked together well to tell good stories each issue. The collection works well in that that there are 2 main story arcs in the 18 issues. The first involves a somewhat OP Cable who becomes a godlike figure on earth. The second involves Dea One of the better collections I've read, especially of contemporary comics. The second involves Deadpool kidnapping baby Cable from Sinister into the current timeline. Throughout, Nicieza keeps focused on a tight cast of characters, which made the stories easy to follow. He also attempts in each issue to establish the characters, their powers, and the current situation, enabling a new reader to pick up at any point of the series and jump in. Even so, the later issues contain page-one recap expositions that seem a little ham-fisted and essay like, despite their self-referential jokes. The series features a bunch of cameo appearances and supporting characters, ranging from the X-men, Silver Surfer, Cannonball, Siryn, and Forge, all of which seem well thought out and help flesh out the stories. Cable was probably the most interesting character, as he shows the most promise in terms of fully realizing his potential and taking it somewhere bigger, but it never really does, at least in this collection. Deadpool shows some twists, and reveals a heart, although I found his jokes somewhat repetitive and growing stale with time. I could imagine trying to make joke at work using a dated reference about, say, The Love BoatAnna Nicole, or Balco at work and hold back for fear that it would fall flat because no one gets it. That's how some of Deadpool's jokes feel now, and while no sane person would attempt them in the real world, Deadpool does. And maybe Deadpool & Cable: Ultimate Collection Book 1 is exactly the point. Deadpool is a likeable idiot, and delightfully wrong at times, and for all of that, he has a certain charm and definitely stands out as a unique superhero. The collection lacks a strong theme or Deadpool & Cable: Ultimate Collection Book 1 other factor that would make it "important" as a series or arc and take it to the Deadpool & Cable: Ultimate Collection Book 1. But on balance, it succeeds precisely because it aims to be an entertaining series that never takes itself too seriously. There's a lesson in this for other superhero comics creators. Gonzalez1, Ken Goldberg1 Abstract— Disentangling two or more cables requires many steps to remove crossings between and within cables. We formal- ize the problem of disentangling multiple cables and present an algorithm, Iterative Reduction Of Non-planar Multiple cAble kNots (IRON-MAN), that outputs robot actions to remove crossings from multi-cable knotted structures. We instantiate this algorithm with a learned perception system, inspired by prior work in single-cable untying that given an image input, can disentangle two-cable twists, three-cable braids, and knots of two or three cables, such as overhand, square, carrick bend, sheet bend, crown, and fisherman’s knots. IRON-MAN keeps track of task-relevant keypoints corresponding to target cable endpoints and crossings and iteratively disentangles the cables by identifying and undoing crossings that are critical to knot structure. Using a da Vinci surgical robot, we experimentally evaluate the effectiveness of IRON-MAN on untangling multi- cable knots of types that appear in the training data, as well as generalizing to novel classes of multi-cable knots. Results suggest that IRON-MAN is effective in disentangling knots involving up to three cables with 80.5% success and generalizing to knot types that are not present during training, with cables of both distinct or identical colors. Unlike a normal simile, an epic simile has a fully developed vehicle that reflects the complexity back on the tenor; that is, an epic sim- ile, in its increased length and depth, can have layers of complexity that a normal simile cannot. The shield of Achilles (Hom. Il. 18.558-709) in Book 18 of Homer’s Iliad and the shield of Aeneas (Verg. Aen. 8.738-858) in book 8 of Vergil’s Aeneid are examples of epic similes, in which the poet takes the role of the god who forges the shield and can comment on society unobtrusively.1 These shields convey different perspectives of Greek and Roman society. Whereas Homer shows the world of peace in con- trast to the world of war to illustrate the tragedy of the Iliad, Vergil expresses Roman triumphalism to glorify Rome and her people. Book 18 of the Iliad marks a turning point in the epic. In it, Achilles decides to return to bat- tle in order to avenge Patroclus’ death by killing Hector. Since he has lost his armour to the enemy, his mother Thetis, knowing that his fate is sealed, beseeches Hephaestus to forge him a new set (Il. 18.534). The god agrees to her request and sets out to work, creating a magnificent shield for Achilles to wear in battle.

    Westford Preservation Plan National Register Forge Village Historic District Description Introduction Forge Village is an industrial and residential village in the town of Westford, Middlesex County, Massachusetts. It is the location of the former Abbot Worsted Mill that comprises the central architectural feature of the village. A branch of the former Boston and Maine Railroad passes through the village along the banks of Stony Brook. Architectural resources consist of moderate to well-preserved residential, institutional, commercial and industrial properties built during the Colonial to Early Modern Periods. Most buildings are either multiple or single unit factory worker housing but several commercial and industrial resources exist as well as a former religious mission, a historic playground and two former schools. Two hundred seventy-four historic buildings exist in the district. One historic site and five historic structures are also present. Architectural styles include Colonial, Federal, Greek Revival, Second Empire Victorian Eclectic, Queen Anne, Colonial Revival, Bungalow and Cape Cod. Boundaries of the district are determined by changes in density of historic resources and by topographic changes. The town of Westford is located in the coastal lowland region of the commonwealth, approximately 10 miles south of the New Hampshire border and 30 miles west of Boston. The town is bordered on the east by Chelmsford, on the south by Acton and Carlisle, on the west by Groton and Littleton and on the north by Tyngsborough. The area of the town is 31 square miles. The village is set along the banks of Stony Brook and on the sloping hills to the north and south.

This test contains five composites« pilot, navigator-tech- nical, dfficer quality, verbal, and quantitative A If a significant relationship exists between these scores and other indicators, AFROTC could conduct a less ex­ tensive aptitude testing program at a substantial savings. Research was conducted to test the null hypotheses that there is no significant correlation between the various composite scores of the AFOQT as dependent vari­ ables and the various subscores and total/composite scores of the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) and the American College Test (ACT) as independent variables. The group of persons who applied for four-year AFROTC scholarships during the 1973-74 academic year was used as the popu­ lation from which to sample. The data collected and analyzed in this study indi­ cated a significant correlation between each composite of the AFOQT and both the verbal and mathematics subscores and the total score of the SAT as well as one or more subscores and the composite score of the ACT. Each AFOQT composite except the pilot composite can be adequately predicted from either the individual’s SAT or ACT score.
