RULES 1.1 The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing. 1.2 Boats that take part in FEC should base on the Notice of Race concerned. If there is a conflict between both of them it shall be settled by between OAs after due consultation. 2. ADVERTISING [DP] 2.1 Boats may be required to display advertising chosen and supplied by the OA. 2.2 Advertisements of the team on the racing boats must be approved by the organizing authority beforehand. 3. ELIGIBILITY and ENTRY 3.1 Boats that take part in FEC. 3.2 Boats that are registered in JSAF or TSF and meet requirements below: 3.2.1 Owner and/or skipper, at least one, shall be a member of JSAF 3.2.2 Boats shall insured with valid third-party liability insurance 3.2.3 The dead line for applying will be by August 11th (Sunday), 2019. 4. ENTRY FEE (except FEC boats) 4.1 For the entry of the race: 4,000JPY/boat and for the entry of the party: 4,000JPY/person 4.2 Boats shall transfer to below account with the total entry fee of the race and party within 2 weeks after sending the entry form, 1 4.3 Bank account: Hokuriku Bank Horioka-Branch Office, Ordinary Account: 6019930, Account name: 2019 Kyokutouhai kokusai yotto re-su TOYAMA jikkou iinnkai 5. CLASS (GROUP) Group A: Boats that take part in FEC Group B: Boats that are registered in JSAF or TSF 6. REGISTRATION and DECLARATION of CHECK-OUT 6.1 Boats shall provide following documents at the registration: ・Entry Form (by 11th August), ・Declaration Form of check out and Copy of “valid third-party liability insurance” 6.2 The boat that cancels to join the race on 14th September shall notify the RC office (see NoR 16) before the beginning of the skippers meeting that will be held at 8：30AM. 6.3 OA will give a special instruction to boats that take part in FEC 7. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS The sailing instructions will be posted on the event website（http://www.toyama-sailing.atnifty.com/ fareastcup/）by 7th September and available at the registration desk on the day. 9. VENUE The venue is as follow locations: 9.1 Regatta Harbor, Skippers Meeting (at the Owners' Room) and Award Ceremony & Party will be held at 2 Toyama Shinminato Marina (Kairyu Marine Park). ☎ +81 766 86 5440 9.2 Parade at sea will be held at the Kaiwomaru Park and off the coast. ☎ +81 766 82 5181 10. THE COURSE The course to be sailed will be as follows: Start (off the Kaiwomaru-Park) – First mark (in front of the Manyo-wharf) – Offset mark – Finish (off the Kaiwomaru-Park). The course requires boats to round the marks to port. See Appendix 11. PENALTY SYSTEM RRS 44.1 is changed so that Two-Turn Penalty is replaced by the One-Turn Penalty. 12. SCORING The scoring system is as follows: Group A: The finishing place will be its ranking. Group B: The ranking will be applied by TCF of the TSF Keelboat Committee. 13. PRIZES Prizes will be given to the winner of Group A, B and some extra. 14. SAFETY REGULATIONS 14.1 Boats shall be kept a hull and equipment in a good repair. 14.2 Boats shall be met the qualification of “Limited coasting area”comply with the law of the Ship Safety Act. 14.3 Boats shall have a Marine VHF and/or Cellphone for the means to communicate and keep watch on it always on the water. 14.4 Boats shall follow the instruction of the race committee boat promptly. 14.5 Fishing net is designated as“obstruction”based on the definition. Boats are requested not to get closer to the fishing net and navigation buoy. 14.6 OA will give a special instruction to boats that take part in FEC. 15. DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See RRS 4, Decision to Race. The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta. 16. PHOTOGRAPHY CONSENT By participating in this event, competitors automatically grant the organizing authority and the event sponsors the right, in perpetuity, to make, use, and show, at their discretion, any photography, audio and video 3 recordings, and other reproductions of them made at the venue or on the water from the time of their arrival at the venue, until their final departure, without compensation. 17. Its fully grown body will attain more than 80 em in mantle length or more than 19 kg in weight and its robust body with the enormously developed fins makes it quite distinct from all other teuthoidean cephalopods; these features seem to deserve well of its being called a noticeable creature in the ocean. This cephalopod is found rather frequently and in a moderate quantity in certain districts of Japan and well known to local fishermen by various Japanese names such as "taru-ika" (barrel squid), "hako-ika" (box squid), "sode-ika" (sleeved squid), "kasa­ ika" (umbrella squid), "aka-ika" (red squid), etc. However, it is apparently very scarce in other parts of the world, being recorded outside the Japanese waters so far only from the Mediterranean (TROSCHEL 1857; JATTA 1896; NAEF 1921-28; etc.), the waters around Madeira (REES & MAUL 1956) and the Cape of Good Hope (BARNARD 1934), and almost nothing is known of its life history including migration, behavior, life span, etc.

Purpose The Sea Turtle Association of Japan (STAJ) receives over 500 reports annually regarding dead stranded sea turtles. Fishery bycatch is assumed to be the greatest source of mortality of stranded turtles in coastal Japan. In addition, STAJ conducts research and monitoring on sea turtles that are bycaught in pound nets in Kochi, Mie, and Kagoshima prefectures, where approximately 100 turtle bycatch are recorded at each pound net site (Ishihara et al., 2006; Iwamoto, 2006; Yamashita, 2007; Takeuchi, 2008). Of the monitored sites, the site in Mie prefecture has a very high mortality rate, suggesting that fishery bycatch cannot be ignored as a source of sea turtle mortality. Moreover, many of the fishers operate with various fishing gear and method depending on the season, leading to extensively varied operation size and type of fisheries across the country. As a result, determining the types of coastal fisheries that pose the greatest threat to turtle populations as well as the extent of bycatch is critical in recovering the population of loggerhead turtles, green turtles, hawksbill turtles, and leatherback turtles that utilize coastal Japan as their habitat.

The selection in digital format will be available from 15.30 today on Club MICHELIN, the membership- based official website of MICHELIN Guide published in Japan. The MICHELIN Guide Toyama Ishikawa (Kanazawa) 2016 features 408 establishments, with 32 hotels, 86 ryokans and 290 restaurants. It includes: mmm 1 restaurant (in Toyama) n 10 restaurants (1 in Toyama; 9 in Ishikawa) m 29 restaurants (8 in Toyama; 21 in Ishikawa) and 4 ryokans (Ishikawa) = 53 restaurants (10 in Toyama; 43 in Ishikawa) The Three-Star restaurant is Yamazaki, a Japanese restaurant in Toyama city. The MICHELIN Guide’s Three Star award denotes establishments that exhibit “exceptional cuisine, worth a special journey!” and is held by only 100 or so restaurants worldwide. The guide also includes 10 Two-Star restaurants and 33 One-Stars, of which 29 are restaurants and 4 ryokans. Even though some ryokans have received MICHELIN stars in other areas before, this is the first time that 4 ryokans have achieved this in the same area and means that Ishikawa has the most number of ryokans with MICHELIN Stars.

A small subproximal spine on the lateral margin of the antennular stylocerite, and the comparatively long rostrum (0.58-0.70 times as long as the carapace), distinguish the present new species from the northwestern Pacific congeners. These characters are shared with E. lineatus Wicksten & Butler from the northeastern Pacific. The new species, however, differs from E. li- neatus in shape of the subproximal spine on the stylocerite and armature of the basal segment of the antennular peduncle and merus of third pereopod. The present investigation embodies the studies concerning mainly the habits of the Hotaru-ika. The observations on their living state as well as the references to the fishery were made in the visits mentioned above 1) and the materials used in this study consist of the specimens obtained there as well as of those from other localities. The fishing season of Hotaru-ika in Toyama Bay and its coasts is commonly late April and the whole of May. The coast where this fishing is carried on, extends from Ota, Himi-gun, Etchu Province to ~toigawa, Echigo Province, which forms the deepest inlet of the Japan Sea in Honshu.

A small subproximal spine on the lateral margin of the antennular stylocerite, and the comparatively long rostrum (0.58-0.70 times as long as the carapace), distinguish the present new species from the northwestern Pacific congeners. These characters are shared with E. lineatus Wicksten & Butler from the northeastern Pacific. The new species, however, differs from E. li- neatus in shape of the subproximal spine on the stylocerite and armature of the basal segment of the antennular peduncle and merus of third pereopod.
