NYSA Baseball Park Rules 2018 NYSA Baseball Park Rules 2018 Coach Pitch Division Rules (8U) Minors Division Rules (10U) 1. GCYB Rules apply (7/8 yrs) 1. GCYB Rules apply (9/10 yrs) 2. Coach pitch - 5 pitches max per batter, excluding 5th pitch foul ball 2. 9 fielders on defense 3. Pitching coach must start pitch with one foot inside pitching circle 3. Max 7 runs per inning 4. Ball must make it to fair arc line 4. Bat the entire bench 5. 10 fielders on defense 5. 1 hr 30 min time limit. (Win = 2 pts, Tie = 1pt, Loss = 0 pts) 6. Pitcher must wear facemask 6. Minimum play rule - 2 defensive innings in full game 7. Catchers must wear complete catcher’s equipment 7. No leads - runner must remain on base until ball passes plate 8. Max 7 runs per inning. Run rule - when mathematically eliminated 8. Runner must slide or attempt to avoid contact with fielder 9. Bat the entire bench 9. Pitch count rules apply: see addendum 10. 1 hr 15 min time limit. (Win = 2 pts, Tie = 1pt, Loss = 0 pts) 10. No balks 11. Minimum play rule - 2 defensive innings in full game 11. No dropped 3rd strike rule 12. Umpires will now be allowed to conduct a conference to change a call of “catch” to “no catch” and a call of “no catch” to “catch.” The committee approved the change in an effort to modernize the game, and to get an incorrect call changed to what should have been the correct call. Under the new rule, if a play to the outfield originally is called a catch but is overturned by umpire conference or through video evidence, the play will be declared dead and the batter will be placed at first base. Each runner will be advanced one base from the position occupied at the time of the pitch.
