This term we have been looking to develop girls' football at Wexham with a focus on students in Years 7 and 8. To assist with this we have been fortunate to secure some FA coaching support for both PE lessons and our extra-curricular girls' football sessions. We are hoping to establish a good core of students to participate in the upcoming Slough schools girls' football competitions. And some of our Year 9 boys and girls have been taking part in a rugby programme called 'On the Front Foot'. Led by coaches from London Irish Rugby Club, this is a six-week programme designed around the core values of rugby and provides a combination of practical and classroom-based sessions. The aim is to help young people develop both their sporting performance and also develop essential skills which they can apply to all aspects of their life such as respect, commitment and resilience.
