NIGHT OF THE MUSEUMS IN TAMPERE ON SATURDAY 18.5. Tickets: Entrance fee (wristband) 10€, group ticket 25€ (max. 5 persons/group), children under 7 years: no entry fee. Tampere regional transport has three buses driving the Night of the Museums-line - marked with a orange line on the map - from 6pm to 11.30pm. The first bus starts from the Museum Centre Vapriikki at 6pm, departures approximately every 10 minutes. With the Night of the Museums entrance wristband you can travel by the bus between our attractions. With the bus 40B you can get to the Automobile and road museum Mobilia in Kangasala by showing your entrance wristband. Buses 2, 6, 9, 15, 40A and 40B take you to the Moomin museum. If need be, inform the driver and the buses will also stop on the regular bus stops on the route. 1. MUSEUM CENTRE VAPRIIKKI / P1 Address: Alaverstaanraitti 5 THE MUSEUM AND RESTAURANT ARE OPEN FROM 6pm–Midnight Restaurant Valssi serves a large variety of baked goods, coffee, tea, soft drinks and alcoholic beverages. Valssis terrace has amazing views of Tammerkoski and old industrial Tampere. 6pm–7.30pm SHOOT THE PUCK COMPETITION IN THE HOCKEY HALL OF FAME FINLAND Come challange former hockey players to shoot the puck in the hockey shooting simulators! Hockey Hall of Fame Finland, 3rd floor. 6pm–9pm TAKE A PICTURE WITH THE CANADA AND AURORA BORALIS TROPHIES Come and take a picture with the legendary trophies! The entrance to the Photo Archive is at the southern end of the Vapriikki building, follow the Night of the Museums balloons and signs. 7pm–9pm MEET FAMILIAR GAME CHARACTERS! At the Finnish Museum of Games you have a chance to take a photo with the characters and discuss the games. Finnish Museum of the Games, 2nd floor. 7pm–Midnight COME PLAY HOCKEY GAMES! At the Finnish Museum of Games Arena you can play new and old hockey games with different consoles, for example PS4, Commodore 64 and Sega Mega Drive. There will be a surprise console as well! KULTTUURITALO LAIKKU Address: Keskustori 4 KULTTUURITALO IS OPEN FROM 4pm–9.30pm 6pm–9pm INDIAN DANCE FESTIVAL: EUROPE’S BIGGEST INDIAN DANCE COMPETITION Europe's Biggest Bollywood Dance Competition is back! Dancers all around the globe will compete for the first place and the opportunity to perform in IDF Show Night. Entry is free so please come and experience evening filled with laughter, dance and talent! 5. Come and enjoy the spacious terraces with a beautiful view over the park. 6pm–Midnight TAKE A PHOTO OF YOUR NIGHT OF THE MUSEUMS STYLE IN OUR PHOTO BOOTH If you need to upgrade your style with the dignity of the palace you can borrow from the wide variety of festive props. The photo booth is open all evening in the downstairs lobby. You can take your photo with you right away but the pictures will be published on Museum Milavidas’ Facebook page, from where you can download the pictures for your own use ore share them with #museomilavida #museoidenyö #milavidanyö. 6pm–Midnight EVENING MEAL AT THE PALACE As a speciality for the Nights of the Museums the café offers Creamy Salmon Soup with Traditional Finnish Archipelago Bread for 8€. 6.15pm–9PM DJ. RAMI S. PLAYS MUSIC FROM VINYL RECORDS IN THE AMBIENTE EXHIBITION Come enjoy the colors and 60’s music in the Ambiente Exhibition. Permission to dance! 13. LENIN MUSEUM / P4 Address: Hämeenpuisto 28 THE MUSEUM IS OPEN FROM 6pm–Midnight 6pm–11pm TABLE HOCKEY Come and play table hockey, you can even organize a tournament. 14. EMIL AALTONEN MUSEUM / P5 Address: Pyynikinlinna, Mariankatu 40 THE MUSEUM IS OPEN FROM 6pm–Midnight 6.30pm AND 7.30pm JOHNNY GIDEON & MASA ORPANA Guitarist and singer Johnny Gideon (Jonni Seppälä) and saxophonist Masa Orpana are well known musicians particularly to friends of roots music like rhythm and blues. They have playend in bands such as Masa Orpana Honk, Groovy Eyes, Anssi Tikanmäki Orchestra, Helge Tallqvist Band, Johnny’s Blues Bonanza, Ismo Haavisto Band, Jazzmuseo and Rakka. Duration approximately 30 minutes. 15. TAMPERE ART MUSEUM / P5 Address: Puutarhakatu 34 THE MUSEUM IS OPEN FROM 6pm–Midnight 6pm–10pm YARD SALE 6.30pm PEKKO KÄPPI Pekko Käppi plays jouhikko, a traditional two- or three-stringed bowed lyre from Finland and Karelia, Russia, at the crossroads of traditional finnish folk music, blues, rock and archaic chaos. Käppi performs in the exhibition of Taru Mäntynen. 17. AMURI MUSEUM OF WORKERS’ HOUSING / P6 Address: Satakunnankatu 49 MUSEUM AND CAFÉ ARE OPEN FROM 6pm–10pm The Café serves coffee, tea, beverages and delicious baked goods from their own bakery 8pm–9.15pm BLACK MOTOR PERFORMS Black Motor plays mainly its own compositions and improvises. Their music consists of different saxophones, flutes and other wooden wind instruments, contrabass, drums and different percussion instruments. At the Amuri Museum of Workers’ Housing the band will play two sets. 19. MOOMIN MUSEUM/Bus number 2, 6, 9, 15, 40A and 40B Address: Yliopistonkatu 55 THE MUSEUM AND CAFÉ TUHTO ARE OPEN FROM 6pm–Midnight Café Tuhto is a cozy café-restaurant with a wonderful terrace that opens towards Sorsapuisto. 8.30pm WHAT HAPPENS NEXT? GUIDED TOUR A guided tour in English in the Moomin Museum. The tour provides in-depth information and expert commentary about Tove Jansson and her beloved Moomin books. Max. 30 persons. Duration 45 minutes. Please come forward to the museum personnel at your arrival. 9pm–Midnight WHISKEY TASTING (Age limit 18) Come to Restaurat Tuhtos’ outlet and enjoy quality whiskeys! Drinks are not free. Moomin Museum’s Studio. 9pm–Midnight JAZZ MUSIC Delicious lyrics, fresh vibes and creative jazz. Samanna performs in the Moomin Museum. 20.
