ARRIVAL TIME You must arrive no later than 8:30AM for day rafting, riverboarding and kayak courses. For anyone staying overnight at basecamp, please provide us with an estimate time of arrival so we can greet you properly and help you get settled-in. WHAT TO BRING ON THE RIVER Shorts or bathing suit, polyester or synthetic clothing. Cotton is NOT advisable. Closed toed shoes with laces, i.e. low cut sneakers. Sandals and flip flops will NOT be allowed on the river, water shoes are not ideal. Cabin and cabin tents are available by advance reservation if you would like more comfort. In this case, you must bring your sleeping bag and pillow - Cots/beds provided. Everyone should bring a towel, flashlight, alarm and warm clothing for evenings. CAMPING POLICIES Pets must be on leash at all times. Please respect fellow campers by toning down the noise after 11PM. Drinking is prohibited after 12AM for those rafting, riverboarding and kayaking the next day. It is absolutely prohibited to drink alcohol on the day of your trip. Please wait until after to party with your group. Anyone under the influence of drugs or alcohol will be prohibited from participating in any activity that could affect their safety and the safety of others. FAQ Can I wear my own helmet and PFD? No. Our insurance company requires that our guest wear our own approved whitewater gear at all times. Are wetsuits available? Yes. Wetsuits are provided if required, overalls and jackets available. Is it OK to tip our Guide? Yes. Being part of the hospitality industry it is common for guides to receive tips after offering an Xcellent service. Can we bring our own beer and drinks? Yes. HorizonX does not sell alcoholic beverages on-site. Glass bottles are not allowed on-site. On your way here, stop at Thompson’s Corner Store for the best prices and selection of beer and liquor in the area – 47 Church St, Portage-du-Fort (QC) Can I stay an Xtra night? Yes. Simply inform us you would like to stay and based on availabilities we would be happy to have you for an Xtra night. Charges do apply. Are there any meal options on-site? Yes. A yummy BBQ Lunch is included on the day of your selected adventure. Please let us know if you require a special diet. You can bring your own Breakfast and Dinner or add it on to your reservation ahead of time. There are many little restaurants you may want to Xplore while you are in the area.
