Serra Laboratorio de Puertos y Costas, Universidad Politecnica de Valencia, 46071 Valencia, Spain Abstract Puebla Farnals marina is located on the Spanish Mediterranean coast, between the "El Puig" hemitombolo and Valencia Port. Therefore Puebla Farnals marina was planned and designed on a coastal area under erosion. The paper reports the effect of the marina development as a littoral barrier, evaluating the damages on downdrift shores. 1 Introduction The construction of ports upon sandy coasts mean the introduction of barriers to the littoral drift, that enlarge the beach when windward to the port and cause erosion when leeward. In the Puebla Farnals case, the marina was constructed when coast was already under an erosion process, and therefore increasing erosion. The paper presents the evolution of the coast line in time, from before and after of the construction. The aim of this paper to establish the effects the marina has on the erosive process on the coast stretch. 2 Localization and characteristics The Puebla Farnals marina is located in the western Mediterranean sea, situated south of the "El Puig" hemitombolo. The coast on the marina is located on the natural morphodynamic section, known as "Ovalo Valendano", limited by the delta Ebro, in the north, and the San Antonio cape, in the south (Figue 1), littoral stretch length approximately 270 kilometers.     BOBAL Allegedly native to the region of Requena (also found in Sagunto), its history dates back to, at least, the Middle Ages. This grape is typical of the high Levante areas. It was predominant in the Valencian region of Utiel Requena, where it represents nowadays more than 90% of the cultivated area. It corresponds to the variety authorized in the D.O. of Alicante, Cariñena and Utiel Requena. Ampelographic characters: the bud has a brown-green apex with horizontal and almost upright growth habit. Medium-large pentagonal leaf, with dark green ribs and a cottony lower side. It presents 5 overlapping lobes at the level of the V-shaped petiolar sinus. The medium-large, conical and irregular cluster holds a spheroidal and slightly flattened medium-sized berry. Cultural aptitude: vigorous and well resistant to drought. It bud-bursts a little later than other varieties, thus avoiding the risk of spring frosts. During very cold springs, it can lead to leaf redness and drops in yield and fertility due to its high vigour. Training systems and pruning: adaptable to different pruning systems, preferring long ones on account of its low basal fertility. Bud-burst period: average-late. Ripening period: average-late. Yield: rich. Susceptibility to diseases and adverse conditions: averagely susceptible to powdery mil- dew. Despite having a large and compact cluster, it’s more resistant to diseases than other varieties such as Tempranillo by virtue of its thicker berry skin and the more aerated foliage. Enological potential: presents a relatively low alcohol content and high acidity (5.5 to 6.5 tar- taric).

He grew up feeding cattle under the Big Sky, serving as senior class president and continuing on to Brigham Young University in Utah for his BA in Humanities and Classics (2010). Keith worked as a volunteer missionary for two years in Brazil, where he learned Portuguese (2004–2006). Keith furthered his education at Brigham Young University, earning an MA in Classics (2012). While there he developed a curriculum for accelerated first year Latin focused on competency- based learning. He matriculated at Brown University in fall 2012 in the Program in Ancient History. While at Brown, Keith published an appendix in The Landmark Caesar. He also co- directed a Mellon Graduate Student Workshop on colonial entanglements.
