Expressions of Interest Howe Island Ferry Advisory Committee

Township of Frontenac Islands is seeking three representatives from Howe Island to act as members on the Howe Island Ferry Advisory Ad-hoc/Special Project Committee for the purpose of; • Gathering information, monitoring ferry usage, and drafting best practices for Council review • Monitoring and evaluating opportunities to speed up service and efficiencies when boarding • Research feasibility of cameras for Howe Island Ferry dock, considering placement and financial impact and operational guidelines. • Developing an information document relating to ridership, average wait times, ease of use and customer satisfaction.

Goals/Objectives: Encourage and support of communication, cooperation and coordination among Howe Island Ratepayers, Frontenac Islands Council, the County of Frontenac and the Ministry of Transportation Promote community responsibility in ensuring efficient and effective techniques during loading and unloading Provide Council with relevant data to increase knowledge and understanding of the issues related to Ferry Transportation of Howe Island. Develop communications document to promote users to assist in making the service more efficient in loading and unloading cars.
