  • Churches – Dickey County, North Dakota
Churches – Dickey County, North Dakota [Compiled by Allen E. Konrad – October 2007; Revised January, 2015] [P.O. Box 157 – Rowley, IA 52329 <[email protected]>] [Note to the Researcher: My research on the churches in this county comes in two parts. This document contains the denominational names of churches, their locations and historical information. This is an alphabetical listing of churches. If the church is a rural church, use the name by which it was known to locate it on these pages. If it is a church in a town, go alphabetically to the town and then find the denomination listed in alphabetical order within that town. I have also put together a file of photos. If my research came across a picture of a specific church, you will find that information listed as Photo Available within the information of that church. The reference will be a two letter code for the county, the name of the church, followed by a number in parenthesis which was my photo identifier. Click on the photo album link to see these photos. The bold capital letter within a history article is used to indicate a new paragraph in the original document that has been transcribed. The symbol [o—o] is used to indicate that a portion of an article in the original was not transcribed. Sometimes there is more than one history listed under a church. Although some duplication of information may be present, the articles were entered because some provided information that others may not have had. If you know of other churches not listed in this document, have access to the histories of those churches, or discover errors in this document, please feel free to contact and share that information with Allen Konrad.] 1.

Bundesvorstand Der 1 1 . Bundesvorstand wurde auf dem Bundesparteitag am 27.

Media practices of civil society organisations: Emerging paths to legitimation and long-term engagement Sebastian Kubitschko Thesis submitted in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy. Goldsmiths, University of London, Department of Media and Communications 2014. declaration of authorship In accordance with University of London regulations for the submission of a PhD thesis, I herewith declare that the work presented in this thesis is my own. Where other sources of information have been used, they have all been acknowledged. This thesis or parts of it cannot be copied or reproduced without permission. Sebastian Kubitschko Date: 23 February 2015 2 acknowledgments Writing a thesis and doing research in an emerging – and in fact constantly changing – area of research is both a challenging and exciting process that would have been impossible without the help of a group of wonderful people. Let me start by thanking Nick Couldry for accepting me as a PhD student, for believing in my project and for widening my horizon over the past four years. Nick’s ongoing, pervading critical feedback introduced me to a clearer and more articulated way of writing. I do not only highly value his mode of contemplation but also his overall approach to what academia should look like in a turbulent world. I am also greatly indebted to Natalie Fenton for her co-supervision, stimulation and patience. Without her continuous incentive and her stimulating input I might still be doing fieldwork. Aeron Davis has given me valuable feedback and recommendations throughout the process and I want to thank him for that.

  • Three Fundamental Dimensions Within Liquidfeedback and Other Voting Technologies
JeDEM 7(2): 45-58, 2015 ISSN 2075-9517 http://www.jedem.org Liquid Separation: Three Fundamental Dimensions within LiquidFeedback and other Voting Technologies Nicolás Mendoza City University Hong Kong, [email protected] Abstract: The objective of this paper is to capitalize on the experiences of LiquidFeedback, providing insights that can be helpful for future developers of voting technologies. The condition of LiquidFeedback as a digital platform carries dramatic implications in terms of its ability to perceive, secure, and make effective the political expression of the community. Beyond the hype, can the LiquidFeedback platform accurately perceive the political will of participants? As a voting technology, is it socially located in a position from where it can meaningfully change the state of affairs of society? Is it configured so that it guarantees fairness and safety from both public and private perspectives? As a result of the conjunction of interviews and critical analysis, three fundamental dimensions to all voting technologies are proposed: Expressivity, Influence, and Integrity. Keywords: digital democracy, voting technologies, Pirate Party, Liquid Democracy, LiquidFeedback Acknowledgement: This research was conducted thanks to the support of the Centre for Digital Cultures (CDC) at Leuphana Inkubator, Leuphana University, Luneburg (Germany). Especial Thanks to Dr. Volker Grassmuck at CDC Leuphana Inkubator, and to Dr. Olli Tapio Leino at the School of Creative Media (SCM) at City University of Hong Kong. 1. Introduction This research project aims to advance the understanding of voting technologies, through a series of in-depth interviews with individuals of diverse profile within the development of LiquidFeedback. The research, conducted in Germany during the summer of 2013, was structured in an open-ended way.
