Report on Theater show Date : 05 December 2020 Place : Atwari & Panchagarh Participants : HRDs, Local elite, Community people, Local UP members No. of Participants: Female-90 Male- 70 Total- 160 (Approximately) Introduction: Manab Kallyan Prished has relentlessly been implementing “Promotion of social partnership for empowerment of marginalised communities in 6 districts and at national level in Bangladesh - PROSPECT” project with the financial assistance of BMZ and technical collaboration of NETZ- Bangladesh in Thakurgaon and Panchagarh district. As part of its efforts, two theater show has performed at Pirganj and Thakurgaon sadar. Description: The plays were performed at Radhanagar union of Atwari upazila at 11.00 am and at 2.30 pm at Goalpara village of Gorinabari union of Panchagarh Sadar upazila. Union CSO members, Union Parished Chairma, members and local elite person were present in the shows. They spoke in a brief discussion before the start of the play. The negotiators said that without the implementation of human rights in the society, it is not possible to improve the living standards of the people. But at every moment we are facing human rights violations. So we all have to work together to establish human rights. For this, people from the grassroots level need to be aware of human rights. And raising awareness through entertainment is the most effective way. Through the enjoyment of this drama today, in a short time we will make a large number of people aware of human rights and try to play a role in establishing human rights in society. About 400 peoples including CSO members enjoyed the two plays. Achievement: • People's participation in enjoying the drama while maintaining physical distance. • Active participation of the people in the interaction of the drama. • Out of CSO peoples also gain basic ideas about human rights through drama. Challenge: • Covid-19 situation. .

Additionally, homicide patterns over time shed light on regional differences, especially when looking at long-term trends. The connection between violence, security and development, within the broader context of the rule of law, is an important factor to be considered. Since its impact goes beyond the loss of human life and can create a climate of fear and uncertainty, intentional homicide (and violent crime) is a threat to the population. Homicide data can therefore play an important role in monitoring security and justice.

CULTIVATION MD JASHIM UDDIN*, ASM MOHIUDDIN, SHAKIL UDDIN AHMED, 1 2 MD KHALILUR RAHMAN, MD ABDUL KARIM AND ASHIM KUMAR SAHA Department of Soil, Water and Environment, University of Dhaka, Dhaka-1000, Bangladesh Keywords: Suitability assessment, Land and soil, Tea and orange cultivation, GIS Abstract Experiments were conducted in soils of the five Upazilas, namely Atwari, Tetulia, Boda, Ranisankail and Panchagarh Sadar of Panchagarh and Thakurgaon districts of Bangladesh to assess their potentialities for tea and orange cultivation. Geographic Information Systems (GIS) based soil suitability map was prepared depending on the hydrological, land and soil characteristics. It was observed that about 86, 76 and 50% soils in Atwari, Tetulia and Panchagarh Sadar Upazilas, respectively are suitable for tea and orange cultivation. But in Boda and Ranisankail Upazilas above 60% soils are suitable for cultivation of tea and orange. Besides, five representative soil pedons, namely Bhajanpur, Ranisankail, Pirgachha, Domar and Dimla were studied and compared with the standard suitability formats. The results revealed that soils of the Thakurgaon and Panchagarh districts under the Old Himalayan piedmont plain are suitable for tea and orange cultivation. There is a vast scope of utilizing the land and soil resources of the above sites for tea and orange farming. Introduction Sustainable agricultural development depends on the potential land use planning. Land and soil resources should be utilized according to their potentiality (Uddin 2000). Soil information is very vital component in this planning process, reflecting directly upon land use suitability (Coleman and Galbraith 2000).
