Currently it fails to meet Water Framework Directive objects of clean water. Due to the many pressures of urbanisation and the loss of natural environment, sections of the Thames channel and its tributaries vary in status, quality and the challenges facing them. Key issues in the catchment include pollution from phosphates that are reducing the diversity of aquatic species and the impact of weirs and other obstructions to fish migration. The catchment based approach, gives us the opportunity to take responsibility locally, answer questions towards issues, and fix problems in the catchment. -

It is an independent body, administered by Elmbridge Borough Council. Grant Aid is available once a year for sports clubs and individuals in Elmbridge to assist with their various sporting pursuits. A total fund of £10,000 is provided by Elmbridge Borough Council for this purpose. Timescales: Applications for grant aid are invited between February and April each year. -
