It is an independent body, administered by Elmbridge Borough Council. Grant Aid is available once a year for sports clubs and individuals in Elmbridge to assist with their various sporting pursuits. A total fund of £10,000 is provided by Elmbridge Borough Council for this purpose. Timescales: Applications for grant aid are invited between February and April each year. Tel: 01372 474638 (Emily Lewis – Sports Development Officer) Email: [email protected] Website: Elmbridge Sports Council Information (ii) Elmbridge Borough Council – Sports Grant Aid Elmbridge Borough Council offers Sports Grant Aid of up to £750 to local clubs towards equipment, capital work (minimal) but not running cost. ESC works closely with Elmbridge BC and takes their recommendations for resolutions. It also offers support of up to £200 to individuals for travel costs, entry fees or training costs. The council informs the clubs and individuals about their Sports Grant Aid through a press release circulated Feb/March annually. The scheme is intended for voluntary and community groups working in Elmbridge. Grant support is available to charitable, social enterprise, community and voluntary organisations. Priority will be given to projects that will become self-sustaining and will not require ongoing year-on-year contributions from the Council. Grants do not normally exceed £300. Clubs located in the Borough may apply for grants towards the cost of improving their facilities, for equipment to extend the range of services offered (especially to the disabled) and to organise local tournaments to keep down the cost of entry (particularly, but not specifically, for youth participation). Grants do not normally exceed £400.
