Office Space Needed The Club continues to look for more appropriate office space. We need space for a desk (with our computer and phone), file cabinet and 2 storage cabinets in a place that is accessible evenings, nights and weekends so our volunteers can get there after their “day” jobs. We also need access to an area that we can use 2 evenings a month for our board meetings (20 people) and our newsletter mailings. We’re looking for a Manhattan location with no cats; something shared with another nonprofit might be ideal. This is a continuing search; if you have any ideas, contact Don Wade, 1-718-426-8555 or e-mail . - 5 - Happy New Year! We hope that your holidays were joyous and filled with music. Janu- ary has many opportunities for you to continue to make music. We have our “sings”— The Folk Open Sing, the Chantey Sing, the Gospel & Sacred Harp Sing, The Riverdale Sing Party, and the Sacred Harp Singing. We are co-sponsoring the People’s Music Network’s Many Voices Concert and Winter Gathering. Don’t forget to register for the Winter Weekend at Warwick. There is still space. Next month we will let you know who will be on the Board. The board list in this newslet- ter is still the old board, since the ballots have not yet been counted as of this printing. Look for the new list next month! Thank you to the volunteers who help to put out the newsletter each month and ensure that you get the word about what’s going on in the club and at events throughout the city. They could always use more help. For the November/December Newsletter thank you to: Irene Anderson, Al Cadwallader, Herb Feuerlicht, Isabel Goldstein, Brenda Pena, Mariann Perseo, Anne Price, Marcus Tieman, Tom Weir, and Don Wade who delivered the pages from the printer. Won’t you join us on Wednesday, January 26th and help mail out the next newsletter? If you would like to be on the club’s e-mail address list, please send a message to [email protected]. I wrote this blues after I hadn’t heard from my decorator for awhile. Beige is one of the basic colors of my new design scheme. THE ROUNDS OF JOHN KRUMM Mini CD Review (and book mention) This is a mini review to meet the newsletter deadline and get the info out. A fuller review will appear at a later date. Suffice it to say that this is a very fine album, stunning rounds by the master of rounds composing, 26 of them, 50 minutes, good listening. This long- awaited album belongs in any serious music library. For those who are ‘paper trained,’ most of the rounds (and some fine songs) can be found in his two books, “A Book of Rounds” and “Joy of My Heart.” (They also contain information on many musical topics, including the art of round composing.) Four of the CD’s rounds are not in either book; sheet music copies of those four are available on request. Do get the CD ($15) and the books ($10 each). Shipping is $1.75 for one item; add $1 for each add’l item. Send checks to John Krumm, 29 Traverse Drive, Plymouth Meeting, PA 19462. Questions? [email protected] . Happy listening and singing. ——Sol Weber Folk Fone Help Wanted Because some of our fathful Folk-Fone recorders are moving, we need additional people to record folk fone.
