Vice President Edward Ssekandi, Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. Ruhakana Rugunda, I was informed that there is a Budgeting Conference going on in Kampala. My campaign schedule does not permit me to attend that conference. I will, instead, put my views on paper regarding the next cycle of budgeting. As you know, I always emphasize prioritization in budgeting. Since 2006, when the Statistics House Conference by the Cabinet and the NRM Caucus agreed on prioritization, you have seen the impact. PART 1: RURAL ROAD MASTER PLANNIN G IN AMURU AND NWOYA DISTRICTS SECTION 2: REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT FOR AMURU AND NWOYA DISTRICTS Project for Rural Road Network Planning in Northern Uganda Final Report Vol.2: Main Report 3. PRESENT SITUATION OF AMURU AND NWOYA DISTRICTS 3.1 Natural Conditions (1) Location Amuru and Nwoya Districts are located in northern Uganda. These districts are bordered by Sudan in the north and eight Ugandan Districts on the other sides (Gulu, Lamwo, Adjumani, Arua, Nebbi, Bulisa, Masindi and Oyam). (2) Land Area The total land area of Amuru and Nwoya Districts is about 9,022 sq. km which is 3.7 % of that of Uganda. It is relatively difficult for the local government to administer this vast area of the district. (3) Rivers The Albert Nile flows along the western border of these districts and the Victoria Nile flows along their southern borders as shown in Figure 3.1.2. Within Amuru and Nwoya Districts, there are six major rivers, namely the Unyama River, the Ayugi River, the Omee River, the Aswa River, Tangi River and the Ayago River. These rivers are major obstacles to movement of people and goods, especially during the rainy season. (4) Altitude The altitude ranges between 600 and 1,200 m above sea level. The altitude of the south- western area that is a part of Western Rift Valley is relatively low and ranges between 600 and 800 m above sea level. Many wild animals live near the Albert Nile in the western part of Amuru and Nwoya Districts and near the Victoria Nile in the southern part of Nwoya District because of a favourable climate. -

The ambition of the organisation is to improve access to water in rural sub-Saharan regions with a special emphasis on post-construction sustainability of boreholes equipped with a handpump. The focus of the Water Compass on post-construction sustainability prior to hardware construction represents a unique and forward-thinking approach that differentiates the organisation from other NGOs in the rural water sector. The poor functionality performance of constructed sources is a concern for the sector in general and the focus of academic studies by van den Broek and Brown. -

J Public Health Hygiene Safety 1(1): 103 Received Date: January 17, 2019 Accepted Date: December 17, 2019 Published Date: December 19, 2019 Abstract Background: In Uganda, about 16 mothers die daily due to pregnancy, childbirth complications or within the first six weeks after delivery. For each maternal death, at least six mothers sustain permanent or temporary disabilities and morbidities. Until now, nearly 42% of the women still deliver at home and yet, 94% of them attend antenatal care at least once. Factors for the persistence of home births among mothers in rural areas of Uganda were therefore investigated to specifically determine the association between social demographic characteristics and home births, the impact of village health teams and the role played by sexual partners in influencing home births. Methods: Through a prospective descriptive survey, data were collected from 133 mothers and fathers using a questionnaire and focus group discussion while 6 key informants were interviewed. quantitative data were thematically analyzed while quantitative data was analyzed for descriptive statistics and chi-square to determine the association of social demographic characteristics and home births. -

INSTRUCTION NOTES FOR THE COMPILATION OF FORM MDI 100 FOR MICRO-FINANCE DEPOSIT TAKING INSTITUTIONS (MDIs) IN UGANDA (FOR MICRO-FINANCE DEPOSIT TAKING INSTITUTIONS (MDIs) LICENCED UNDER THE MDI ACT 2003 NOVEMEBER 2020 FOREWORD Institutions registered under the Financial Institutions Act (FIA) 2004 and the Micro-Finance Deposit Taking Institutions (MDI) Act 2003 are required to report to the Central Bank data or information that the Bank may deem necessary for carrying out its responsibilities as spelt out in the two Acts. The Central Bank designs and amends as necessary, returns that are used to collect information from the institutions. The Form MDI 100 is one of the statutory returns designed by the Supervision and Research Functions of Bank of Uganda for all Micro-Finance Deposit Taking Institutions (MDIs) in Uganda The BS100 collects information on financial and nonfinancial assets and liabilities broken down by detailed institutional sectors and in some instances, economic sectors and additional analytical information. The update of the BS100 is expected to capture subsequent changes in the sector as they unfold, while maintaining emphasis on having the reports manageable for the compilers and consistency across reporting institutions.
