The H’mm Foundation is named after H’m, a volume of poetry by R.S. Thomas, and because the musing sound ‘H’mm’ is an internationally familiar ‘expression’, crossing all linguistic frontiers. This literary venture has already secured the support of well-known poets and writers, including Gillian Clarke, National Poet for Wales, Jon Gower, Menna Elfyn, Nigel Jenkins, Peter Finch and Gwyneth Lewis. -

Disgrifiodd ap Siôn y cylchgrawn pop Sgrech (1978–85) a’i debyg fel rhan o ‘wasg answyddogol’.1 Cafodd Sgrech, Asbri (1969–78), S wˆ n (1972–4) a Sothach (1988–97) yn ogystal â’r ffansîns amrywiol i ymddangos yn y Gymraeg ers y 1980au gryn sylw mewn arolwg manwl gan Jones.2 Mae Hill yn ategu’r syniad fod y rhain yn chwarae rôl allweddol yng nghynhaliaeth y byd cerddorol, yn pwysleisio’r ‘fundamental contributions’ a wnaeth y tri chylchgrawn cynharaf yn ystod y 1970au: With these three magazines, Welsh popular music developed into something to take seriously, and to criticize.
