The Introductory Rites STAND THE LORD PROVIDED ISRAEL KINGSFOLD The Lord provided Israel With gifts of finest wheat, Gave flowing honey from the rock To satisfy their need. A loud shout raise to Jacob’s God, Rejoice in God and sing; Sound timbrels, pluck the harp and lyre To God, our mighty King.

Now sound the ram’s horn for our feast, The full moon and the new; So God decreed for Israel A stature just and true. “From bondage I have set you free,” Thus says the Lord your God, “I took the burden from your back, And shattered Pharoah’s rod.”

“O hear, my people, Israel!” O heed my voice and live! Be filled with honey from the rock, And taste the bread I give.” Give glory to the Father, Son, And Spirit equally; As from the first it was, is now, And evermore shall be.

Text: based on Psalm 81; Christoph Tietze. Music: KINGSFOLD, CMD; traditional English melody; adapt. by Ralph Vaughan-Williams (1872-1958).

HOMILY SIT

PROFESSION OF FAITH (NICENO-CONSTANTINOPOLITAN ) STAND I believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible. I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages. God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father; through him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven, (all bow) and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets. I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. I confess one for the forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen.

Precious body, precious blood, seen as bread and wine; here the Lord prepares the feast divine. Bread of love is broken now, cup of life is poured: come, share the supper of the Lord.

This is the bread of God coming down from heaven, giving life to us, to all the world.

“I am the living spring of eternal life; you that drink from me shall not thirst again.”

“I am the bread of heaven giving life to you; you that eat this bread shall never die.”

“All those who feed on me have their life in me, as I have my life in the living God.”

All praise to you, O Christ, present in this feast; in this bread, we share in one life, one Lord.

The Concluding Rites

PRAYER FOR THE COVID-19 CORONA VIRUS PANDEMIC Dear God of all the living, you sent your Son Jesus to heal us from illness and sin. We turn to his healing power in this time of anxiety over the pandemic of this potentially deadly virus. St. Damien and St. Marianne Cope dedicated their lives to service of those who had an infectious disease. St. Marianne Cope said, “I am not afraid of any disease,” because she was confident of your power to save. At the same time, she took prudent precautions of hygiene to assure that she and her Sisters would not be infected. Let us learn from this example to put our trust in you to save us from the ravages of disease and to take prudent measures to prevent its spread. Guide us to know when to isolate ourselves from the possibility of infection, but never let anyone be left without the care and concern of others in the community. As our Diocese of Honolulu has been dedicated to the Divine Mercy, we pray with confidence, “Jesus, I trust in you.” Amen.

BLESSING Celebrant: The Lord be with you. People: And with your spirit.

People respond to the (s): Amen.

DISMISSAL People respond to the : Thanks be to God.
