FEBRUARY 1975 'Youth' Comes to College of Boca Raton During the Next Few Months, Students at the College of Boca Raton, Will Be Noticing Some New Faces on Campus Vol 3, No. 5 College of Boca Raton FEBRUARY 1975 'Youth' COmes To College Of Boca Raton During the next few months, students at The College of Boca Raton, will be noticing some new faces on campus. These fac~s will belong to the stuQents of The College For Senior Americans. The College will be dedicated on February 19, in the new senior citizen center, also known as Trinity Hall. This dedication exemplifies the aim of The College of Boc11 Raton, to fulfill the desire for knowledge existing in each individual, regardless of age. The College For Senior Americans is a comprehensive project that includes health services, social. services, and continuing education for senior citizens of the city of Boca Raton and its surrounding communities. The Colle~e will have four major divisions of study. <1 > The Cultural and educational division will be concerned with films. seminars, plays, and classes of continuing education. <2> The Social and Physic(ll activities division will be concerned with physical education and group trips. <3> The Division of Medical ServiceS will offer lectures from physicians, medical referral groups, and nutrition programs. !4) The Research Dev~lopment Division will concentrate on the needs of the aged in t()day's society. Today's society does little to meet the needs of the elderly, due to the emphasis on youth and economic oriented values. These values should be reconsidered to include the importance of each human being and the unique insights and experiences, offered only by our senior Americans. It is to this goal that the College For Senior Americans is dedicated. First, an experience (concerning a communication from the dead) that my mother had. She once told me that she often used to wake up in the middle of the night to see her late father standing by the bed, not as a vague shape, but as real-looking as if he were still alive. I asked her if she was frightened by the apparition and she replied, “Well, I didn't like it but I knew he wasn't real, so I pulled the clothes over my head and went back to sleep.” So, did she really see her dead father standing by the bed or...? Obviously, she could never “prove” that it happened as she described and no one else could prove that it didn't. However, there is a way around this logical impasse.

  • Rock Album Discography Last Up-Date: September 27Th, 2021
Rock Album Discography Last up-date: September 27th, 2021 Rock Album Discography “Music was my first love, and it will be my last” was the first line of the virteous song “Music” on the album “Rebel”, which was produced by Alan Parson, sung by John Miles, and released I n 1976. From my point of view, there is no other citation, which more properly expresses the emotional impact of music to human beings. People come and go, but music remains forever, since acoustic waves are not bound to matter like monuments, paintings, or sculptures. In contrast, music as sound in general is transmitted by matter vibrations and can be reproduced independent of space and time. In this way, music is able to connect humans from the earliest high cultures to people of our present societies all over the world. Music is indeed a universal language and likely not restricted to our planetary society. The importance of music to the human society is also underlined by the Voyager mission: Both Voyager spacecrafts, which were launched at August 20th and September 05th, 1977, are bound for the stars, now, after their visits to the outer planets of our solar system (mission status: https://voyager.jpl.nasa.gov/mission/status/). They carry a gold- plated copper phonograph record, which comprises 90 minutes of music selected from all cultures next to sounds, spoken messages, and images from our planet Earth. There is rather little hope that any extraterrestrial form of life will ever come along the Voyager spacecrafts. But if this is yet going to happen they are likely able to understand the sound of music from these records at least.

  • Johnny Winter - Live Through the '70S
Johnny Winter - Live Through The '70s http://concertdvdreviews.com/Reviews/Winter_Live70s.htm Johnny Winter - Live Through The '70s Performance Production "Born cross-eyed and albino, Johnny Winter (John Dawson Winter III) disregarded Mother Nature's unkindness to forge a career as one of the few great white blues-rockers". I thought that this quote from The Johnny Winter Story website summed it up quite nicely. I have not followed Johnny Winter's career as closely as I should have, although I did recently pick up the remarkable new legacy edition of Second Winter , which includes a Live At Royal Albert Hall 1970 bonus CD. MVDvisual 's excellent new Live Through The '70s DVD is my next step towards redeeming this shameful oversight. Live Through The '70s features some incredible archival footage of Winter performing at various TV shows and concert venues during his peak performing years of the 1970's. Interspersed between all of the different shows are segments from an interview Winter did on the Detroit Tubeworks TV show, with host Dennis Fawley, where all participants appeared to be gleefully stoned off their gourds. At one point Winter goes off on an extended expose on how badly he wants to be able to levitate: "Can you imagine how cool it would be just to sit up there, just float around and play your guitar?" Yes I can Johnny, yes I can. This was almost as entertaining as the music.
