Winston Churchill Blvd. Once an abandoned CP rail corridor, the Elora Shaw’s Creek Rd. Wellington Rd. 124 Cataract Trailway (ECT) was formed through co- operation of Credit Valley Conservation, Grand

River Conservation Authority and the Elora Dundas St. Cataract Trailway Association. The trail creates a ERIN VILLAGE greenway for people to explore the environment in Dundas St. E. different ways, while protecting natural and cultural heritage values.

The ECT is three metres wide with a stone- Mississauga Rd. screened surface suitable for walking with strollers, wheelchairs or cycling. Experience the natural wonders of the Line 5th Niagara Escarpment and the cultural heritage of its past at Limehouse Conservation Area. The Bruce Trail and side trails take visitors into the geological heart of the area known as the “Hole in the Wall” where ladders provide access to fissures in the escarpment rock.

Trails also take visitors past remnants of the lime industry in Ontario. Stand 0 100 m before huge lime kilns and associated features such as an old powder house. These cultural heritage resources of the 1800s represent an important part of Ontario’s past. Kiln Trail – 0.05 km CVC Trail – 0.9 km

Canadian Pacific Railway a W Frontier Ridge Meadowvale Conservation Area is the Pond St. home of CVC’s Administration Office and features the Credit River throughout the property. The Glassford Trail takes

visitors along its banks and through the Intuit Tr. floodplain. While on the trail, you may see remnants of early settlement with mill and farm ruins still visible. The nearby Village of Meadowvale was designated as Ontario’s first heritage conservation Old Derry Rd. 0 200 m district in 1980.

Silver Creek Conservation Area is CVC’s largest land holding. It protects many significant natural features including the headwaters of Silver Creek, a Credit T River tributary. This area includes a large Niagara Escarpment valley and many rafalgar Rd. representative features of the area’s natural splendor. Wander past babbling brooks, lush forests and escarpment rocks as you explore this little taste of

Willoughby Rd. Located within the Towns of Caledon and Orangeville, the Upper Credit Conservation Hwy 10/24 Area (UCCA) represents one of CVC’s most significant land acquisitions with 400 acres.

The Credit River serves as the ecological backbone of UCCA. The property features diverse ecosystems including wetlands, coniferous and deciduous forests, and meadow habitats. RR 136

This part of the Credit River is identified as a coldwater fish community which supports brook trout. Highpoint Siderd. The area is home to many bird species including the bobolink, common grackle, mourning warbler, yellow-rumped warbler, dark-eyed junco, and white-throated sparrow. You may even see a great Highpoint Siderd. blue heron near the water’s edge.
