  • THE IMPACT of BRAND IMAGE on CONSUMER PRE-PURCHASE DECISION- MAKING PROCESS a Qualitative Study on Sustainable Fashion Consumers
THE IMPACT OF BRAND IMAGE ON CONSUMER PRE-PURCHASE DECISION- MAKING PROCESS A Qualitative Study on Sustainable Fashion Consumers Mariam Aptsiauri & Veera Könni Department of Business Administration International Business Program Degree Project, 30 Credits, Spring 2021 Supervisor: Galina Biedenbach ABSTRACT The fashion industry’s massive ecological footprint and the throwaway culture of fast fashion have contributed to a growing global interest in sustainability and ethics in fashion consumption. Consumers have become more conscious of the environmental and social impacts of the fashion industry. Hence, marketers in the fashion industry have realised that creating a favourable brand image establishes positive consumer perceptions. The purpose of this thesis is to examine the impact of brand image on consumers' sustainable fashion consumption. Furthermore, the thesis aims to provide a deeper understanding of the consumer pre-purchase decision-making process concerning sustainable fashion. Researchers have agreed that understanding consumer pre-purchase considerations helps explain consumer decision-making since they highly influence purchasing decisions. A research gap could be identified since there is no study examining the three concepts combined; brand image, consumer pre-purchase decision-making process, and sustainable fashion. Moreover, there is a need for academic research that updates knowledge on sustainable fashion consumers. From prior research, it was recognisable that more in-depth research on different brand image dimensions is needed to understand the underlying factors affecting sustainable fashion consumption. This thesis focuses on the impact of brand image by examining the eight brand associations containing the brand's meaning for the consumers hence examining the impact of these brand associations on each pre-purchase stage.

Historical and geographic analyses emphasize the marginality of the western Pyrenees and the role of enforced social norms exacted by intense solidarities of kin and neighbors in agropastoral production. Both are satisfying and simple narratives, yet neither offers a realistic framework for understanding complex processes or the contingency and behavioral variability of human agents in transforming a landscape. The Long Anthropocene in the western Pyrenees was a spatially and temporally heterogeneous and asynchronous process, and the evidence frequently departs from conventional narratives about human landscape degradation in this agropastoral situation. A complementary place-based strategy that draws on geoarchaeological, biophysical, and socio-ecological factors is used to examine human causality and environmental resilience and demonstrate their relationship with the sustainability of mountain landscapes of the western Pyrenees over medium to long time intervals.

Next-generation solar power Dutch technology for the solar energy revolution Next-generation high-tech excellence Harnessing the potential of solar energy calls for creativity and innovative strength. The Dutch solar sector has been enabling breakthrough innovations for decades, thanks in part to close collaboration with world-class research institutes and by fostering the next generation of high-tech talent. For example, Dutch student teams have won a record ten titles in the World Solar Challenge, a biennial solar-powered car race in Australia, with students from Delft University of Technology claiming the title seven out of nine times. 2 Solar Energy Guide 3 Index The sunny side of the Netherlands 6 Breeding ground of PV technology 10 Integrating solar into our environment 16 Solar in the built environment 18 Solar landscapes 20 Solar infrastructure 22 Floating solar 24 Five benefits of doing business with the Dutch 26 Dutch solar expertise in brief 28 Company profiles 30 4 Solar Energy Guide The Netherlands, a true solar country If there’s one thing the Dutch are remarkably good at, it’s making the most of their natural circumstances. That explains how a country with a relatively modest amount of sunshine has built a global reputation as a leading innovator in solar energy. For decades, Dutch companies and research institutes have been among the international leaders in the worldwide solar PV sector. Not only with high-level fundamental research, but also with converting this research into practical applications. Both by designing and refining industrial production processes, and by developing and commercialising innovative solutions that enable the integration of solar PV into a product or environment with another function.

Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory December 2014 A Weapon Test at Supersonic Speed Also in this issue: A Model for Sustainability Crystal Orientation Mapping NuSTAR Looks at Neutron Stars About the Cover A team of Lawrence Livermore engineers and scientists helped design and develop a new warhead for the U.S. Air Force. This five-year effort culminated in a highly successful sled test on October 23, 2013, at Holloman Air Force Base in New Mexico. The test achieved speeds greater than Mach 3 and assessed how the new warhead responded to simulated flight conditions. The success of the sled test also demonstrated the value of using advanced computational and manufacturing technologies to develop complex conventional munitions for aerospace systems. The artist’s rendering on the cover shows a supersonic conventional weapon as it emerges from its rocket nose cone and prepares to reenter Earth’s atmosphere. • Case Studies in Reggio Calabria, Italy
Sustainable Development and Planning X 903 RIVER ANTHROPIZATION: CASE STUDIES IN REGGIO CALABRIA, ITALY ROSA VERSACI, FRANCESCA MINNITI, GIANDOMENICO FOTI, CATERINA CANALE & GIUSEPPINA CHIARA BARILLÀ DICEAM Department. Mediterranea University of Reggio Calabria, Italy ABSTRACT The considerable anthropic pressure that has affected most of Italian territory in the last 60 years has altered natural conditions of coasts and river, thus increasing exposure to environmental risks. For example, increase in soil waterproofing caused a reduction in hydrological losses with a rise in flood flows (with the same rainfall conditions), especially in urban areas. This issue is important in territories like Mediterranean region, that are prone to flooding events. From this point of view, recent advances in remote sensing and geographical information system (GIS) techniques allow us to analyze morphological changes occurred in river and in urban centers, in order to evaluate possible increases in environmental risks related to the anthropization process. This paper analyzes and describes the effects of anthropization process on some rivers in the southern area of the Reggio Calabria city (the Sant'Agata, Armo and Valanidi rivers). This is a heavily anthropized area due to the presence of the airport, highway and houses. The analysis was carried out using QGIS, through the comparison of cartography data of the last 60 years, which consists of aerophotogrammetry of 1955, provided by Italian Military Geographic Institute, and the latest satellite imagery provided by Google Earth Pro. Keywords: river anthropization, flooding risk, GIS, cartography data, Reggio Calabria. 1 INTRODUCTION The advance in anthropogenic pressure observed in Italy over the last 60 years [1], [2] has increased vulnerability of territory under the action of natural events such as floods [3]–[5], debris flow [6], [7], storms [8], [9] and coastal erosion [10], [11].

  • Ethical Consumerism in the Cosmetics Industry: Measuring How Important Sustainability Is to the Female Consumer
Ethical Consumerism in The Cosmetics Industry: Measuring how Important Sustainability is to The Female Consumer. Using Conjoint Analysis to Measure the Utility Given to Sustainability Attributes of Cosmetic Packaging as a Function of Consumer’s Sustainability Engagement Level Bachelor Thesis 2020 University of Twente Petra Caruana Bachelor Thesis, Communication Science University of Twente, The Netherlands Department: Behavioural, Management & Social Sciences Supervisor: Thomas Van Rompay / [email protected] Email Author: [email protected] Student Number: s1930281 Date: 26 June 2020 2 Abstract Previous research on the relationship between consumer sustainability consciousness and purchasing choices in favour of sustainably packaged makeup products is mixed. This study uses online Conjoint Analysis and an environmental sustainability consciousness questionnaire to measure the extent that environmental sustainability consciousness predicts the relative importance female consumers attribute to sustainably packaged eyeshadow palettes. A fake eyeshadow product, Aurora Gold, is used to simulate a market study without alerting the participants to the true intention of measuring sustainability consciousness. The results confirm that women’s environmental sustainability consciousness does predict the utility women derive from sustainable makeup packaging and therefore women’s purchasing choice. However, this relationship is limited in that the environmental sustainability consciousness factor only explains 7.2% of the relative importance given to sustainable packaging. Further analysis on the research data shows that as the frequency of makeup use increases, the importance given to sustainable packaging in relation to the other product attributes decreases. Moreover, a high proportion of favourite makeup brands indicated do not offer sustainably packaged eyeshadow palette alternatives and post-survey interviews highlight a sense of consumer helplessness in increasing sustainable product consumption.
