Kết quả điều tra thành phần loài ốc cạn tại các xã ở Xuân Lạc và Bản Thi thuộc Khu bảo tồn sinh cảnh Nam Xuân Lạc đã xác Từ khóa: định được 49 loài, thuộc 34 giống, 12 họ, 4 bộ, 3 phân lớp. Trong đó, phân Ốc cạn, Chân bụng, Xuân lớp Heterobranchia đa dạng nhất với 34 loài (chiếm 69,39%); Bộ Lạc, Bản Thi, Chợ Đồn, Bắc Kạn. Stylommatophora có thành phần loài đa dạng nhất, với 33 loài (chiếm 67,35%); họ Camaenidae có số loài nhiều nhất, với 16 loài (chiếm 32,65%). -

Holden Environmental Scientist I Barbara Goetting Environmental Specialist I Thomas Dix Environmental Scientist II MARCH 2003 1 Environmental Protection Commission of Hillsborough County Richard Garrity, Ph.D. Executive Director Gerold Morrison, Ph.D. Director, Environmental Resources Management Division 2 INTRODUCTION The Environmental Protection Commission of Hillsborough County (EPCHC) has been collecting samples in Middle Tampa Bay 1993 as part of the bay-wide benthic monitoring program developed to (Tampa Bay National Estuary Program 1996). The original objectives of this program were to discern the ―health‖—or ―status‖-- of the bay’s sediments by developing a Benthic Index for Tampa Bay as well as evaluating sediment quality by means of Sediment Quality Assessment Guidelines (SQAGs). The Tampa Bay Estuary Program provided partial support for this monitoring. This report summarizes data collected during 1993-1998 from the Middle Tampa Bay segment of Tampa Bay. 3 METHODS Field Collection and Laboratory Procedures: A total of 127 stations (20 to 24 per year) were sampled during late summer/early fall ―Index Period‖ 1993-1998 (Appendix A). Sample locations were randomly selected from computer- generated coordinates. Benthic samples were collected using a Young grab sampler following the field protocols outlined in Courtney et al. (1993). Laboratory procedures followed the protocols set forth in Courtney et al. (1995). Data Analysis: Species richness, Shannon-Wiener diversity, and Evenness were calculated using PISCES Conservation Ltd.’s (2001) ―Species Diversity and Richness II‖ software. -

Dallol area is situated in the northern most part of the Eastern African Rift system. The studied coral outcrops are aligned along the northwestern margin of the Afar rift. This research focused on the investigation of systematics of corals and associated fossils of mollusca, echinoidea, ostracoda and foraminifera together with the reconstruction of past environmental conditions. Different scientific methods were followed in order to achieve the objectives of the study. These are detailed insitu morphological descriptions; field observations and measurements; laboratory preparations and microscopic examinations; comparison of the described specimens with type specimens; and paleoecological calculations using PAST-3 software. Total of 164 fossil and 9 sediment samples are collected from the field and examined. The Dallol corals are classified into 12 Families, 29 Genera and 60 Species. -

ABSTRACT Title of Dissertation: PATTERNS IN DIVERSITY AND DISTRIBUTION OF BENTHIC MOLLUSCS ALONG A DEPTH GRADIENT IN THE BAHAMAS Michael Joseph Dowgiallo, Doctor of Philosophy, 2004 Dissertation directed by: Professor Marjorie L. Reaka-Kudla Department of Biology, UMCP Species richness and abundance of benthic bivalve and gastropod molluscs was determined over a depth gradient of 5 - 244 m at Lee Stocking Island, Bahamas by deploying replicate benthic collectors at five sites at 5 m, 14 m, 46 m, 153 m, and 244 m for six months beginning in December 1993. A total of 773 individual molluscs comprising at least 72 taxa were retrieved from the collectors. Analysis of the molluscan fauna that colonized the collectors showed overwhelmingly higher abundance and diversity at the 5 m, 14 m, and 46 m sites as compared to the deeper sites at 153 m and 244 m. Irradiance, temperature, and habitat heterogeneity all declined with depth, coincident with declines in the abundance and diversity of the molluscs. Herbivorous modes of feeding predominated (52%) and carnivorous modes of feeding were common (44%) over the range of depths studied at Lee Stocking Island, but mode of feeding did not change significantly over depth. One bivalve and one gastropod species showed a significant decline in body size with increasing depth. Analysis of data for 960 species of gastropod molluscs from the Western Atlantic Gastropod Database of the Academy of Natural Sciences (ANS) that have ranges including the Bahamas showed a positive correlation between body size of species of gastropods and their geographic ranges. There was also a positive correlation between depth range and the size of the geographic range. -

ABSTRACT The family Neritidae has representatives in tropical and subtropical regions that occur in a variety of environments, and its known fossil record dates back to the late Cretaceous. However there have been few studies of molecular phylogeny in this family. We performed a phylogenetic reconstruction of the family Neritidae using the COI (722 bp) and the 16S rRNA (559 bp) regions of the mitochondrial genome. Neighbor-joining, maximum parsimony and Bayesian inference were performed. The best phylogenetic reconstruction was obtained using the COI region, and we consider it an appropriate marker for phylogenetic studies within the group. Consensus analysis (COI +16S rRNA) generally obtained the same tree topologies and confirmed that the genus Nerita is monophyletic. The consensus analysis using parsimony recovered a monophyletic group consisting of the genera Neritina , Septaria , Theodoxus , Puperita , and Clithon , while in the Bayesian analyses Theodoxus is separated from the other genera. -

ABSTRACT In order to contribute to knowledge of marine fouling communities, the present study analyzed the temporal variation in molluscan communities found on quarterly and annual recruitment panels placed in a seaport area of northeastern Brazil. A set of 30 artificial panels was submerged among pier pillars to a depth of approximately 6 m. Every three months, one subset of 15 panels was removed to examine the biota present. The second subset of 15 panels was left submerged for one year, and then removed for analysis. On the same day that the panels were removed, they were replaced with new panels. -

[email protected], [email protected] RESUMEN rca zebra, constituye uno de los recursos pesqueros de mayor impacto económico en el nororiente de Venezuela, ya que forma bancos de importancia comercial. Durante un periodo de nueve meses (mayo 2010- agosto 2011) se identificó, cuantificó y describió la estructura comunitaria de los organismos provenientes de la pesquería de arrastre efectuada por los pescadores de la zona; así mismo, se calculó la Abiomasa y abundancia de los diferentes grupos taxonómicos para realizar Curvas de Comparación Abundancia-Biomasa (ABC), con el objetivo de determinar el grado de afectación por la actividad de arrastre. En total se contabilizaron 3 249 organismos, pertenecientes a 130 especies, agrupadas en cinco Phylla: Mollusca, Annelida, Arthropoda, Echinodermata y Chordata. La diversidad total de Sanders fue de 122.9. Entre los taxones más diversos se encontraron los moluscos (70.87) y poliquetos (29.91). Los moluscos presentaron la mayor abundancia, seguidos de los poliquetos, crustáceos, equinodermos y ascidias. El mayor aporte en biomasa la mostraron los moluscos y equinodermos. Las especies constantes fueron: Mithraculus forceps, Phallucia nigra, Echinometra lucunter, Eunice rubra y Pinctada imbricata.
