It contains, the name, postal address and stand­ ards in each school. ScJiools are listed in Revenue and Educational District acid Sub District-wise in the order of management viz. Gfovemment, Private aided and Private unaided schools are presented in the alphabetical order as far as possible to faicilitate easy reference. An abstract is given at the beginning showing the nuimber of schools at a glance. The list is prepared by the St;atistical wing o f this Department on the basis o f infor­ mation furnished by the Assistant Educational Officers after proper scrutiny. The holy shrine dedicated to Lord Ayyappa is situated 914 metres above sea level amidst dense forests in the rugged terrains of the Western Ghats. Lord Ayyappa is looked upon as the guardian of mountains and there are several shrines dedicated to him all along the Western Ghats. The festivals here are the Mandala Pooja, Makara Vilakku (December/January) and Vishu Kani (April). The temple is also open for pooja on the first 5 days of every Malayalam month. The vehicles go only up to Pampa and the temple, which is situated 5 km away from Pampa, can be reached only by trekking. MESSAGE The Kerala State Biodiversity Board in association with the Biodiversity Management Committees - which exist in all Panchayats, Municipalities and Corporations in the State - had conducted a rapid Impact Assessment of floods and landslides on the State’s biodiversity, following the natural disaster of 2018. This assessment has laid the foundation for a recovery and ecosystem based rejuvenation process at the local level. Subsequently, as a follow up, Universities and R&D institutions have conducted 28 studies on areas requiring attention, with an emphasis on riverine rejuvenation. I am happy to note that a compilation of the key outcomes are being published.

In the recent workshop conducted by the WHO South East Asia office on 14th August 2020, the focus was on Health Care Workers and how to ensure motivation and health of the Health Care Workers throughout the world. All the experts opined that the Health Care Workers management is very essential and the most integral part of it to give the confidence to the Health Care Workers regarding their protection. This volume gives the information regarding HCW getting positive in the month of July. • Out of the total Health care workers affected, 98 (22%) were Doctors, 148(33%) were Staff nurses, 85(19%) were either Nursing Assistants/Hospital Attenders, 20(5%) were Field staff (HI/JHI/JPHN), 17(4%) were Asha workers, 46(10%) were paramedical staff and 28(6%) were office staff/support staff. • Out of the total Health care workers affected, most were from Thiruvananthapuram district (30%), followed by Kannur (21%), and Kozhikode (12%) districts. • Least number of health care workers were affected in Palakkad district. • Of the Doctors affected, 74 (75.5%) are from Government sector while 24 (24.5%) are from private sector. For Nurses the figures are 82 (55.4%) and 66 (44.6%) respectively • Of the health care workers contracted COVID 19, 301 (68%) were involved in direct patient care, 103 (23%) were supportive staff and 37 (9%) were field staff.
