Eine Fortsetzung vor einer Fortsetzung - trotzdem spannendVon ScimitarFr David Weber noch ausstehend ist die Frage, ob es ihm denn auch gelingen wird, eine seiner Serien zu einem logischen und befriedigenden Ende zu fhren oder ob er in der ewigen Fortsetzung versinkt. Auch wenn dieser Band als Fortsetzung des "Crown of Slaves"-Spin Offs verkauft wird reiht er sich doch nahtlos in die Handlung ein. Das erspart dem Leser auch die stndigen Wechsel des Handlungsortes wie bei der "Nimue Alban"-Serie und auch die Namen kann man sich merken.Zur Handlung (Spoilerfrei): Zumindest auf der Seite von Manticore ist mittlerweile die Existenz des "Alignments" von Mesa bekannt, dazu aber recht wenig Details. Gemeinsam wird beschlossen, das schon bewhrte Team mit einem ganz neuen Cover wieder nach Mesa zu entsenden, um mehr ber diese geheimnisvolle Verbindung zu erfahren. Auf Mesa wei man mittlerweile auch, dass mit dem Eingreifen anderer Mchte zu rechnen ist und startet eine lange vorbereitete Aktion namens "Houdini". Der Umstand, dass diese Aktion zu tausenden von Toten fhren wird nimmt das Alignment dabei gern in Kauf.Die Handlung insgesamt ist leidlich spannend, wenn auch etwas langatmig. Man mchte Weber wirklich wnschen, dass er die mittlerweile doch arg unbersichtlich gewordenen Handlungsstrnge erfolgreich auf den Punkt bringt und dazu nicht noch mal 20 Bnde braucht. Wir gnnen alle unseren Helden langsam mal Ruhe, Frieden und mchten, dass sie nach den zahlreichen liebgewordenen und "unterwegs" verstorbenen Handlungspersonen der Rest jetzt langsam ankommt.Von mir erhlt der Band eine Leseempfehlung, fr die etwas bertriebene Langatmigkeit und den unklaren Punkt, wann mal zu Potte gekommen wird aber einen Punkt Abzug.4 von 4 Kunden fanden die folgende Rezension hilfreich. Ist auch spannend, aber fr mich wird die Handlung auf den fast 600 Seiten nicht schnell und weit (!) genug voran getrieben. Ohne spoilen zu wollen, etwas mehr als "Houdini" hatte ich mir vom Gesamtplot bzgl. des Alignments schon erwartet. Da muss man wieder auf weitere Harrington / Saganami-Bnde warten.Insgesamt empfehlenswert, aber schwchster Band von Crown of Slaves.Als E-Book von gelesen.
