Stand Up for Palestine - Feat. Alexei Sayle

Alexei Sayle is the Liverpudlian who was there at the cradle of Alternative Comedy, and became a national treasure without losing his edge. A true friend of the Palestinian cause who stood up for it time and again. "The bite of his wit, barely blunted after 40 years deployment, are gloriously intact. Long may he rage for our entertainment.

Alexei will be in conversation with Daphna Baram, MC: A Jerusalem Born, London Based comedian, formerly a human rights lawyer representing Palestinians in military courts and director of the Israeli committee against House Demolition, UK Branch. Nowadays she is mainly menopausal, angry and fat from within. "Full of hearty laughs and hopefulness, Baram wins the audience over with minimum effort. Accessible, fascinating stand up sets like this are in short supply…It is amazing".

Sameena Zehra An award winning comedian, storyteller, writer, director and blues singer/songwriter. She has performed her solo shows all over the world, including Edinburgh Fringe, Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Brighton Fringe, Adelaide Fringe and New Zealand Fringe, where she was nominated for 'Best In Fringe' 2016, and won 'Outstanding Performer' in 2017.

Sameena is proud to have been revolting since she was 7 years old. Mo Omar A fast-rising talent with a unique perspective. Mo performed in The Pleasance Comedy Reserve show at the Edinburgh Fringe and was a finalist of the BBC Introducing Radio 4 Comedy in 2019. He made his TV debut on Harry Hill’s Clubnite on Channel 4, made a half hour show for BBC Radio Wales called Becoming Welsh and appeared on BBC Presents Stand Up for Live Comedy (BBC One).
